Like my earlier thread about Mushtaq Ahmed...where have all the other Pakistani players gone?
Ijaz Ahmed, Inzamam ul-Haq, Shahid Afridi, Wasim Akram?
I know Wasim Akram is getting very old, but he hasn't retired yet, I thought they were still wheeling him around?
Ijaz, Inzamam and Afridi would have been of great help seeing as Pakistan have batted poory this series.

I think Mushtaq Ahmed has either just faded or retired - Danish Kaneria is their best leggie now.
Ijaz Ahmed - again I'm not sure. I know he was implicated in the betting scandel, but then so were others who are still playing. I -think- he was banned, but I'm not sure.
Inzamam-ul-Haq is injured. Probably still Pakistan's best batsman. (Yousuf Youhana is also injured)
Wasim Akram and Saeed Anwar decided to sit out the series. Heck knows why.
Shahid Afridi has always struggled to hold down a spot in the test side. He plays a lot of one-dayers because he can slog and is a useful bowler.
SHahid Afridi is typical of subcontient cricket.
shows all this talent when hes young by belting the **** out of mediocre first class attacks because it seems as though anyone can get a run in a first class team over there because their system is so ****.
Then when the push comes to shove, they aren't anything special at all. There are countless "young prodigies" to come out of the subcontient who dont end up doin anything in their careers.

The series would have been a little more competitive if Pakistan had Wasim Akram, Yousof Youhana, Saeed Anwar and Afridi.
You pretty much have a decent top order batting line-up with Afridi, Youhana and Anwar!

Pretty sure Saeed Anwar took a bit of time off the game as one of his children was quite ill (noy sure if the child died, but I think it was cancer or something). I think he only recently (las 9 months or so) returned t playing.
Afridi doesnt play a lot of test cricket, may be someting to do with his technoique. Inzy, Yousef and Akram are either injured or being rested.
