Essendon board reorganised?

There are limited resources on BF.

Boards that have the traffic get more and those that have less, get less.

The Essendon board doesn't have as much traffic as other boards, yet have 3 sub forums as opposed to others that have more traffic yet less sub forums.

Bomber Spotting is poorly inhabited and is avoided by the majority of posters.

Windy Hill is being poorly utilised atm, as ant hasn't been able to attend as many trainings as was originally hoped for and not many have helped out in the area of providing reports for us on BF, even though some have attended training and also reported on BB.

So the question is where do we go to from here?

During the season I thought Bomber Spotting was pretty active.

However, if you were to get rid of the board you could move the theards to the main board and make a sticky theard with the theard links to each player in it.

I can understand the requirement for a Bomber Spotting Board for administrative purposes; but for me it's too rigid, & stifles discussion.

I find it annoying having to discuss players in a set area, and even more so if a valid point is made, but the discussion is moved to the specific player thread. Just my 2c

I agree. A whole new topic becomes a reply in Bomber Spotting. Obviously it neatens things up, but it makes things harder to follow at the same time.

As for The Hangar, discussion hasn't really flowed, and most of the topics pretty closely resemble those in the General Discussion area.

Get rid of bomber spotting IMO. Windy Hill needs to go too, training reports can be just posted in the main section.

Silly suggestion but maybe we can have a section for Essendon supporters where cricket/footy games are simmed?

I'd say that Bomber Spotting and Windy Hill are more important than a sim board.

I'd say Spikey's idea is the best if we're going to lose a board, but I'd like to keep the lot of them. Each serves its purpose, however, Windy Hill needs more things happening in it. What that should be, I don't know, but I'm sure someone can think of some things which could happen in Windy Hill.

I like Bomber Spotting as it allows the rubbish on the main board that is aimed at an individual to be put in that thread). During the season Windy Hill is active, I'd leave it, but I'd dump the other one in the bin and just put the stuff in that thread in the Windy Hill

bomber spotting is good in that it compiles info continually on a specific player.

how about threads are not transferred there immediately leaving discussion on the main bomber board for some time say 1-2 weeks or until the thread becomes inactive?

i've only just joined windy hill as didn't realise it existed - perhaps it started up whilst i was inactive overseas?

i live around the corner from windy hill and will try to get along to training sessions more often but its difficult with full time work. its a shame they aren't more vfl games there as i'd go to all of them on w/ends but can't be bothered driving all the way to bendigo.

I think Windy Hill is useful if we could get more people contributing. Perhaps those posters who regularly attend training could take it in turns to attend training and then report on it. This way no one has to do all the work. I also like both Bomber Spotting and The Hangar and wish we could keep them all. :D

That would mean only essendon supporters could see the "Bomber spotting" section. Fantasy Coaches that support other clubs are then likely to duplicate questions/info in other parts of our board(s). Think it's best to keep "Bomber Spotting" open to everyone.

To tell the truth, my first impression of "Bomber Spotting" was that it would be Bomber Supporters telling stories of bumping into Players out and about. :o I didn't look at it for ages

Windy Hill is the least busy board. Either Bomber Spotting or The Hanger should merge with it to make it more active.

Personally I prefer Bomber Spotting more so maybe The Hanger could be merged into Windy Hill.

What is Windy Hill's purpose by the way? Are training reports really that secret? Especially when they are free for everyone to see on BB.

Fair enough, but isn't that why have a stickied DT question thread on the main board? Very rarely do other supporters come to the board (Bomber Spotting).

I like the renaming of Bomber Spotting. As has been said before, noobs can get the wrong impression that Bomber Spotting is actually seeing a player in the public.

I like The Hangar, another name might be better but i dont see anything wrong with this name.

Also i don't think the training reports should be on the main board, as i think they will get lost and have even less traffic. Some sort of merge seems to be a good idea though.

I guess if you wanted to stick with an aeronautical theme you could have "On the Radar" or "Flying above the Radar", an allusion to the fact the players are being watched/observed that is in the same vein as "the Bombers" and our very own "Hanger" (assuming we keep it).

Just a thought.

Windy Hill could probably be dumped. The only information it holds is training reports and even if we don't want to information to 'get out' a person can just go on another Essendon forum and see it.

If there has to merging then I think that Windy Hill and Bomber Spotting (Player Watch) could be merged as they both have to do with the pre- and post-game activities of the players. Perhaps retain the name Windy Hill, but merge into it Player Watch and make it available to the public.
