I was looking at the 1996 National Draft and was realizing what a great get Nathan Brown was at #10. There was no one selected above him that I would rather have and the only one who challenged from after him was maybe Jonathan Hay. It really was quite an ordinary draft.
I'm terrified that every other club will realise how great he is (I think they already do :( ) and target him when his current contract is up.

Just love the guy (in a blokey kind of way). He is about the only bloke with character in our side and one of only a few left in the AFL. Dont know whether you noticed after the game the other night and the boys were on the podium, the cheeky bugger hoisted a pot plant in the air as if it was the cup, beautiful. :D

Yes I got a bit of a laugh about that one.

I particularly enjoyed Browny's answer to "What do you want to do after your career is over?
He said he wants to make enough money playing footy to retire.
He is on good dollars at the Bulldogs, they would have to throw s***tloads at him to make him change clubs.

Collingwood have already enquired about his plans after his current contract expires.

Sorry i didn`t read this post properly dd17. Browny was the player of the series IMO. If you know anyone who has taped both the International Series games try and get hold of them to watch. I have them both taped and when i got home on Monday night, my young bloke (9 year old) was glued to the TV with his number 17 jumper on watching "what he describes as his boy Browny" kick some serious butt.

But we were after talls, why oh why did we go after another midfielder ???
Surely it would have been better to take a punt on Brett O'Farrell, Brent Grgic, Pat Steinfort or Tom Gilligan :)
I will never forgive the club for making such a glaring error :)

If he did that at home he would be sent a please explain from the AFL and fined $5000 for bringing the competition into disrepute.

Well, well, well OldSchool. Me thinks the market in sarcasm is not cornered by me alone.
Score one for take the best player available with our first (two) picks.

Have heard on good authority that Browny has already told the dogs to get F&%@ed re: the pay cuts.
He has no intention of working after footy, so he will be looking to make as much cash as he can in the next 6 - 8 years.
Not good news for fans who enjoy watching the human highlight film in red, white & blue.

well this is an interesting conversation! It always in when it comes to Nathan!
Old school - you should be wrapt we picked up a player like him!
Browny still has that little bit of school boy flair in him and its great for the game! Tell me it doesn't make you laugh or put a smile on your face at a game when you see Browny in action, hes a champ!!!
I was told on good authority that Browny wants to stay at the club and the only reason he would have left was if a certain person go the coaching job and that person didn't so he aint going no where!
He made all doggies fans proud playing against Ireland, and lets not forget, this guy is only 24 years old!
Keep it up Browny!
I too hope to see Browny become one of our major stars (is already IMO) and a club leader, but I get the feeling that he will be putting No. 1 first. We will have to work hard to keep him. :(

He would go if the money offered is right.
Remember what he said about making enough money out of football to retire on.

"Yeah, it was great to win the series. The Irish are a great team, but we beat them 107-100. We also won the fight too, which was good :D

Yeah thats why he stayed with us instead of going to Collingwood for more money last time his contract was up
I'm sure he could make up for the difference by doing some work in the media anyway.
ps Browny was man of the series in my opinion too!!!
Browny = Legend lol i thought i'd join in hehehe :D

Here here HP8! I totally agree with you, if he wanted the money then why didn't he chase it 2 years ago? i think Browny has made a second home at the club, i believe he is gonna be like Johnno and Bubba, a bulldog for life.
This guy is a champ and not only a champ a really good person, he helped me through one of the toughest times of my life without a problem!
it would break my heart and every other supporters heart if he left the club, but i'd follow his career whereever he goes!
