According to the Hun, Eagleton is out of contract. YAY!!!!

The Hun mentions Eagleton and Alvey as trade bait.
Id say thats about the size of it for us.

I can see us chasing Brogan, although I d love to snare Keating.

Obviously Port wouldnt take Eagleton back, so we would have to swap for draft picks, then ontrade the picks.

Id be happy with Eagleton for Brogan, or Eagleton and alvey for Keating, wouldnt you?

Hold your horses! Eagleton for Brogan?

Eagleton, despite being much maligned, can play a bit. Brogan is older and remains unproven at AFL level. I am yet to hear of a report on him that convinces me he is up to it. I don't mind offloading the Eagle as I'm sure he would probably do better elsewhere but I don't want to see us import an unknown quantity just because he is tall. We already have enough of them in Wiggins, Bruton, Skipper.

Still think we should have a crack at Keating. Just think if we unload Eagle and Bartlett that combined wage bill would probably be more than enough?????

I wouldnt get to excited about what the H/S is saying. They also have him down as prime trade bait with Alvey as minor bait.

If I was an opposition club I know who I would go for.

According to the Hun, they are both 23. Port supporters seem to rate him, but behind Primus and Lade. Reports are that he enjoys making a physical presence in the SANFL, which is more than you can say for the Wigster.

Yes, obviously Keating would be right up our alley, but nobody is going to trade for Bart, and a small softish outside midfielder player isnt worth a tall proven premiership ruckman cum forward. We would have to offer more.

for sure, I wasn't suggesting that as a trade just building a wage case to get him.

Keating's market worth would have sky rocketed in recent times. I suspect other clubs like Essendon and Hawthorn would be in better position to land him. Can only dream on :( .

Luckily we have access to its cousin, the glorious Telegraph Mirror, one of the truly great newspapers of the world. ;)
