That will kill Lumberg, he is the big fat gutted trainer who has been there for as long as i can remember. He would drink bucket loads of grog after training, well its diet time Burger. :eek:

That is a big loss to the footy club
Brutus has been at the club for over ten years and has been named by the players as best clubman a couple of times.
He took every request from the players with his mobile running hot 24/7. Numerous times taking in the young pups for extended stays (Collins) and cooking for the other younger blokes after training (Hargreaves, Birss).
He did most of the organizing of interstate trips and the logistics of getting buses to local grounds.
I guess his role of Player Welfare Manager (oviously not a requirement of the players union) will be lumped onto an assistant. This is a worrying trend. How much of the tree can you cut into until it falls.
Rose better have a good game plan to explain to West, Brown and Darcy at the end of next year when their contracts become due. They will certainly not stay just because Johno has 2 years left!

I don't think they would go although if i was a player and that happened to me i wouldn't know how to feel.
They all said they were very close to Terry Wallace and him going would have been enough to cope with but now everything they knew about the club has been taken away.
I wouldn't be feeling like it was my club and i would probably be angry with Rose for taking it all away.

Well if Rose doesn't make the hard decisons there might not be a club anyway. Maybe too many ppl have been taking a lot of things for granted and assumed that the club can afford all the lurks and perks. The time has come for everyone to be made accountable I'm afraid.

I thought that Oberon Pirak was player welfare manager. Is that who you are talking about?

Brutus has been offered the job of team manager on match day ONLY and has lost his full time job with the club (cost cutting i suppose), i'm led to believe he has untill Wednesday 6th Nov. to reply to the offer.
Good to see the club still wants him instead of scraping him all together, top bloke, top clubman. ;)
