Real R&B music is great. Rhythm and Blues.
If Porthos is talking about R&B as defined by white or latino chicks miming MoTown stylings while a horde of dancers sync through a series of meaningless, contrived choreographcy, then I'll side with him. Even if that leaves me open to ridicule and mockery.

Spot on. Even some of the black artists today couldn't be called R&B.

If you guys are judging "R&B" by the stuff you hear on the pop charts (as it seems like you are all doing), then I was right - you are all ignorant.
Surely you guys aren't all stupid enough to be expecting to hear GOOD MUSIC on the pop charts!?

R&B fits to all this bootylicious crap, because 90% of it is sampled from what actually used to be R&B, so the name fits.
