I reckon it will work out, Everitt could be a great addition to our team.
May be a change of club will be a positive for Spider...he definitely has the talent. It just seems odd that Schwabby would publicly say that the club was after a ruck who could play 6 years. Personally I preferred Keating.....time will tell...I spoke to quite a few fellow supporters and many preferred Hawthorn to go after Keating, but I suppose there were other factors involved.
I think I had the same opinion when the Hawks picked up Fish and the General....in hindsight I was wrong with regard to Fish - the General is still debatable in my opinion.
On a positive, I think Spider will be good for the development of Robbie Campbell and Loats - has a fantastic tap out and can kick a goal. :)

Everitt is a headcase.
He will play some good games, and some sh1tful ones. Not the what the Hawks need IMO, but I wouldn't know.

Everitt and Thompson alternating in the ruck and forward line. In a word: destructive.
Hawthorn now have a spine of power -
- Hay, Smith and Rawlings,
- Crawford, Ries and Hodge,
- Holland, Thompson and Everitt
Not to mention guys like Dixon, Harford, A/S Cox, Greene, Lonie, Johnson, Clarke.
Schwab has made this deal to save his job, but he doesn't have to worry, Hawthorn will be back.
Where 2002 showed complacency and crap, 2003 will show desire and determination. Everyone at Hawthorn wants to play there. A Fit and firing Smith, Everitt, Rawlings, Hay, Holland and Hodge sees Hawthorn ease into the eight, maybe the four.
Good luck to Everitt. He's probably glad about all those 50-m-penalities he gave away back in 1999!

i reckon its a great move by the hawks to pick up everitt, he's been needing a change for bout 2 years and this will be only too good for him, i reckon he's going to be a major boost to our team and IF he can stay injury free and control is attitude then he will be great.

The fact is that Everitt is a Hawk and if you don't believe it for god's sake grow up and go and ring the club instead of making such a fuss on here.

must say that i do feel sorry for the poor little receptionists down at all the AFL clubs particularly Hawthorn and Melbourne even more so. The amount of calls they would be getting over the Everitt trade and the Woewoden deal would be outrageous. MMM nice pic Vanders! Already saved that one on the comp this mornin then went out and bought the Age and the Herald Sun to get the pics of him for my Spider shrine wall. Problem is there's not one space to fit any more pics :mad: am gonna have to shuffle them all round to fit some of his new Hawk photos in!
Yes Dipper am buying a Hawk membership and will go to most of the Hawk games next year when Spider is in the team. Will also get a guernsey too as soon as i find out Spider's new number and as soon as the new ones for 2003 r brought out!

coz one day at the Ansett Cup in 97 i saw his pic in this Puma add in the footy record and thought he was the cutest guy i had ever seen lol so i slept with the picture next to my bed then saw more and more of him in the paper and on the footy show and he was so funny and seemed a real character. Seein as the Saints played at Waverley almost every week (which is right near my house) and Collingwood barely got to play there often i would go walk up to watch Spider all the time if they were playin on a day that the Pies weren't.

Yeah I luv it!!! Obviously Spider is determined to start a fresh. I love his attitude.
Maybe with a hair cut, he will fit into our pretty boy team quite easily, he isnt all that bad on the eye!! Not to mention, he does have quite a good body on him!!
I was a bit wary at first, but Im very excited about his attitude to being part of our team - especially as he thinks we are better than St Kilda.
Woohoo go Spider lol!! I have always liked him on the footy show - and I cant actually believe he will playing for us next year. My dad regards him quite highly, and it takes a lot to impress him.
I seriously looking forward to 2003. You're in for a treat Spidey :)
