Just got my renewal today in the mail. They've changed some of the payment options, last season you pay off your membership in 3 payments which is the option that I chose to do. This year it isn't there. Instead you pay 10% now and the other 90% in February.
High Mark's gone up about 10 bucks, although I can't really remember what I payed last year, so that's a tiny guess.
Guess I'll use the 10-90 option though to make my payment.

I have a few membership questions. Barring unforseen circumstances, next year will be the first full season I spend here, so I'm planning on buying my first ever membership.

I've got a pamphlet from last year, but wasn't entirely sure on a few things.

Basically, I want to get admission to 18 games. (11 home + 7 away).

1. Is admission included or do I need to pay extra? How do I go about getting my tickets?
2. Will membership allow us to get some halfway decent seats at Docklands? Will that cost extra?
3. Is there a deal for couples? (My wife wants to get one too).
4. There is a deal involved with the Melton Country Club. Is this affiliated with Melton Valley Golf Club, and do I get any kind of golf benefits?

Stealth, I'd asume you'd probably want the Bronze membership. The 18 game one for that cost's $246.50

Reserved seat's for the 11 home games cost:
Gold $196.40
Premium A $150.20
Premium B $108.40
Premium C $71

At Docklands the seating is as follows.
Gold is generally level 2. Premium A is on the wing on level 1. Premium B is level 1 behind the goals or on the wing up the top level. Premium C is only up the top level.

Not really sure how they work out seating arrangements at the G.

Don't know if they do a deal for couples, I've only seen Singles and Family tickets mentioned.

And you get Melton Country Club membership with Silver or High Mark membership. I'm not sure if they still have Silver available but I'm sure High Mark is sold out unless people don't renew, might be the same with Silver at the moment too.

Hope that helps.

Admission included for all 18 games

No seats at all for home games at the Phone Dome have to buy a reserved seat for the year or on a match by match basis, home/away games at the MCG should be just swipe the card and find a seat no extra cost apart from Anzac Day

Not unless you can produce 2 kids in the next few months

Dunno, just pokie privliges I think (but not certain)

AFL membership gets a bad wrap from the whingers on here but restricted membership remains great great awesome value, you get 30 plus games entry and for EFC home games at Colonial you pay $4.50 a ticket per match and get to sit on Level 1 which is equal to a $200 EFC Gold reserved seat plus you get free access to all finals in the first 2 weeks

$250 in total for that as compared to an 18 game EFC pack of $246 by itself

Okay, so assume I get a bronze membership for $246.50 but don't get a reserved seat, and just pay the flat fee. How does seating work then? I'm still guaranteed admission, right? (I tend to like moving around and sitting in different places from week to week).

AFL membership: $250 for the entire thing Ewok?
$4.50 for home games = $49.50 for 11, and I can sit in Level 1.
What do I pay for the 7 away games? Nothing?

All up I'd pay $299.50 for the year, get Level 1 seats for EFC home matches, free access to any other match up to 30 and free finals access for two weeks?

That's great, although does that mean only 1/16 of the money goes to the club, and am I technically an EFC member? (Although I wouldn't mind some of the money going to North and Footscray).

Sorry to ask so many questions. I'm American, I'm new to all this stuff.

For all EFC home games at the Phone Dome you have to buy a reserved seat week by week at Ticketmaster if you don't have a season reserved seat, but only pay for the cost of the reserved seat itself & booking fee (not general admission on top), home/away games at the MCG apart from Anzac Day you can rock up and sit on the top deck of the Ponsford (well you can't anymore I guess or the top deck of the Olympic)

Only really need to book for the 7 EFC home Phone Dome games, AFL members section in the Great Southern Stand at the MCG is very rarely totally full)

You have the choice of being a club-support package (full EFC member with voting rights etc) and all money goes to the club of your choice (which is the one you will need if you want access to Preliminary and Grand Final tickets as AFL silver members can only access those tickets if their club of choice makes those games). $252 for 2003 club support package, is also a competition package which is cheaper, but you can't access Prelim & GF tickets unless the games don't sell out and all money goes in a 1/16 split to all clubs instead of Essendon getting the lot

Correct, we joined as silvers at the end of '99. We were the last group to be accepted, waiting list was introduced not long after (post season 2000, i think).

Only thing really the EFC Silver gives you is the certainty for getting a GF ticket and free membership to Windy Hill/Melton social clubs which are worth virtually nothing anyway (anyone can join, was $10 membership fee last time I looked) and access to the bar rooms at Phone Dome & MCG (which an AFL membership does also)

$160 extra to bet that we make a GF, wouldn't appeal to me if I had that option available to me

Ah well. I'll stick with my bronze and MCC membership. Don't need to spend $160+ for nothing then. Probably buy some ****ty merchandise with it.

I figure the team will only make it to a gf once every 5 years on average, so i can just pay a scalper for granny tickets with the $800 i saved.
