Chick wore '17' at Hawthorn, so what's the chance Bluey will give him the all-clear to bring West Coast's prized '17' out of retirement?

Has Bluey finally accepted a comeback is out of the question?

McKenna's and Kemps jumpers should be retired permenantly. Like they do in the NBA.

if McKenna and kemps numbers were retired then Jako's would have to be, and matera, and woosha...i don't believe in retiring them, let a kid we think will be good wear them or an established player ie chick

Judd has Mainy's. Sampi has Lewie's.

Worsfolds jumper should be retired, but if we retired the rest, come 10 years and Ryan Turnbull's number will be the first of the rack.

Retiring numbers has never been a part of AFL footy, nor should it be. Kids grow up aspiring to wear the numbers of great players and it should stay that way. it's too hard with AFL, having a squad so large, to eliminate numbers.

Id like to see Chick wear 17 at the club, it's his number and I dont think he has done anything to suggest he shouldnt be given the guernsey.

I think he will be given the number. He is a great player so it would be no disrespect to McKenna in any way.

I say let him have it, theres nothing to suggest he shouldnt

For mine, it's good to see a dynasty of great players in a certain jumper.

Take #4 ... Glendinning - Sumich - Antonowicz - Kerr.

Antono - who??

I was insulted when that kid wore the legendary #4

from the age

Chick has already spoken to coach John Worsfold about the prospect of wearing No. 17 for the Eagles.

The jumper has not been worn since Guy McKenna retired but Chick was hopeful he would receive permission to wear the same number he wore with distinction at Glenferrie Oval.

hope he gets to wear it.

However if they give '2' to Adkins I shall be most upset...

(do we have a '12'?)

I'm kind of sentimental and with Bluey being one of my all time fav's, I'd like to see it stay as 'his'.
Then again, who know's what sort of star Chick may be for us and I guess if McKenna's happy with Chick wearing it, I'll have to be too.... ;)

Chick's probably the one guy who's as hard at the footy as McKenna too!!!

He'll do #17 proud.

Still a year to go on his contract.
