Do we need one, will we play one?

Potential options:

Hauritz - is a decent one day bowler, economical and takes wickets, averages around 30 in domestic competition.

White - played as our spinner against Bangladesh and in the WIndies with a little bit of success. Too inconsistent. Provides more resistance with the bat than other spinners however is not as good with the ball.

Doherty - rarely plays the four day game these days however is a handy one day bowler and averages around 32-33 in one day cricket.

Cullen - struggling at state level however has a solid one day record and can keep it relatively tight.

Krezja - would they consider Jason or he is purely a test bowler due to his inconsistency?

Doherty seems reliable.

You left Heal off your list of options

Aaron Heal.

Heal is the pick of the OD spinners atm. Can bat as well so I'd go him. Dohetry and Hauritz next in line. White has to get in as a batter his bowling in the ODI game will only lead to him being smashed,

Hauritz or Krezja

Heal should be it - i've been calling for his selection for a while. But i have a feeling the selectors are keen on Doherty.

Given the options, should we play one?
White will probably get the nod, simply because he can bat and field.

As have I.

I think Hauritz and Doherty will probably be right in the mix then Heal.

Heal should be.

I can't ever remember seeing a side get on top of him. He always seems to keep it tight which results in wickets for him and they guys bowling at the other end.

To answer the question of the thread, i think White will be as the selectors seem to like the extra batting he provides.

I'd like to have a look at Heal too in the ODIs, but think White will get the nod.

But with all our other bowling options, no guarantee we'd even start a spinner - will have to have one in the squad though.

I think they will stick with White but I would like to see Doherty because he is a better bowler and can field as well as bat a bit.

Hauritz.

Hauritz.

He has 4 wickets off 50 overs in the FRC this season. I doubt he'd be much of a chance based on that form.

His economy rate is all I care for. I could not care if he has 1 wicket or 10, but I want a spinner going for under 4-5 an over
