Just entertained the thought.........
One players broke his neck (Toia) the other has been a pain in the neck!!!:D

Seriously though, if he was able to recapture the form of yesteryear, Toia would be a "very handy" in and under player!
Surely he would not command a hefty price as he has been out of the game for almost 2 years.
Wonder if Freo would budge???
What do you all think?

Why would you bother?

Eagle is no star, but he's competent. I'm sure he wouldn't be slaughtered by Bulldog supporters if it wasn't for the Powell-Monty trade.

Toia has no future as an AFL player.

I dont know why but I have always rated Toia reasonably well(probably because you couldnt tell the difference between him and Callaghan)We certainly wouldnt be any worse off from that trade.

Not if you don't want his cousin, dear suzi, as a constant "contributor" to this board.....

I still have hope in Eagle, don't ask me why, forlorn hope perhaps it is.

If we can't get a trade for him put him on an incentive based contract and see how he goes. He just might come good with Wallace out of the joint. I say that because perhaps in a psychological way he couldn't perform under someone who rated him so highly. The pressure related to what was given up and the consequent expectation of supporters may have been too much for him.

I agree. I haven't written Eagle off yet.

Mid '01 Eagle had a run of 5-6 games where he played rover and got 25-28 touches each week. Then he was put back on the flank and struggled.

The guy has ability and I think he could be a solid contributor as a rover, it's just that we have other guys who are better.

I actually agree. His last couple of games for us have been a huge improvement. It would be a shame to trade him him for virtually nothing only for him to flourish at another club.
