"And all I got were these lousy draft picks..."
Seriously, who is going to ruck for us next year?
:(
At least we got a bit of space in the cap I guess...
What is the point of having a gap in the salary cap, if we don't have the players we need to be successful.
We have to get a GOOD ruckman in return for Blummers & Heff, otherwise it is a waste of time, while the Bombers are at it, why don't they trade McVeigh & the Johnsons as well, gee we will have heaps of room in our salary cap then, no good players but heaps of money.

There really wasn't that much on offer. Everitt & French were the only chances, but they weren't what we wanted.
Other choices of Allan & Keating were just too pricey.
We have 3 picks in the 1st round in the draft, wouldn't surprise me to see at least 2 ruckman come out of that.
We'll have to have faith in Hille for at least 1 more year.

Exactly which quality ruckman did you want to 'buy'? Everitt? Allan? I would be embarassed if we had picked up either of them. French is a hack. Brookes was too expensive. Ruckmen are over rated anyway. Sommerville and Alessio were doing the job in 99 and we finished the season 18-4. Collingwood have McKee and Fraser and they made the grand final.

I agree. Whats the point of getting a ruckman for the sake of it, such as Keating. Why not battle it out for another year because who knows, next year a top ruckman might be out of contract and with the space in our salary cap with those 3 gone plus hird being a veteran, we can hit the jackpot !

Considering we got SFA from the trades & given up 3 top players why the hell didnt they use McVeigh Jacobs & Moorcroft in the trades we wont miss those 3 as much plus that is all the trades we got back are worth.
Barnesy, put that can of VB down NOW!!!

Rumour on the bomberblitz.com board is that the club already has an eye on picking up a former AFL level player "who will do just as good a job as a Keating or French ever could but for a fraction of the cost" in the draft

Is that the same place you got your info about Cupido not having a problem with his shoulder for a year but just couldnt break into the Brissie side when in fact he is on their long term injury list if it is then I suggest you stop believing anything you read on Bomberblitz.

Who are they looking at.
Already tried Salmon.
Benny Gale?
Stewie Loewe?
Who else fits that description?

Who was the guy that Richmond dumped last year that Essendon were looking looking at?
Steinfort? O'Farrell ex-Hawthorn
List probably endless

Is he or is he not playing? I heard he was retiring, and I heard he was playing on.
A complete waste, get rid of three players and can't even get what we need.
If we don't have Salmon, obviously there's only Hille & Alessio left...they can play bit parts, but I wouldn't trust them with a whole season. We're asking for a miracle...:(
