From the looks of things, McPhee wasn't part of the Headland deal at all, just a straight trade to Essendon for pick #60.

Pick #60 is what you get for players you're just happy to get rid of. A bit like what we got for Schell. Is there anything i'm missing about McPhee? He looked to me like a tough midfield/half back flank type player who had reasonable skills but a bad year this year due to injury. Why on earth would we want to get rid of him? Anyone know if he was a wildboy off the field, or everyone at the club hated his guts?

I doubt it
I am pretty sure it was part of the headland deal.
I mean it would have to be, as we took him for less than 60 and hes played above expectations.
Hell we traded Schell for 56

McPhee was a part of the Headland deal... Essendon just threw in a little compensation. If McPhee wasn't traded to Essendon, then they probably wouldn't have accept Caracella for Cupido and #17.

Pick 46 for Schell wasn't it?
And you drafted Medhurst with that pick.
Schell is gone for good next week, doubt anyone will pick him up pre-season, I never thought he would make it and I was in shock seeing him as such an early pick, laughed when he was picked up, skilled but does not have the hardness or judgement of an AFL footballer.
Thanks guys for helping us with the Pickett trade, we will remember you guys when Pavvy wants to come home, I was worried we were going to trade Schoey for Waterhouse their for a while but the brainstrust at Alberton wanted to keep our tight unit together for another year, I reckon Waterhouse's best is yet to come but I would of ran naked across the nullarbor if we lost Schoey.
