go team

with a fit side select six out of:
fletcher, wellman, bolton, jaccobs, lucas, heneman, m johnson, rioli, mcphee, welsh, foster-knight, mercuri
the new guy
McPhee. What type of a player is he?
the questions -
will there be room to play mercuri off a back flank? (as suggested before his injury)
which of lucas, bolton & jaccobs would be better suited up foward?
should johnson be moved into the midfield?

McPhee is being called a Guy McKenna clone
Our backline continues to look awesome, you forgot that dude named Solomon in your list!
Now only if Fletch can keep his arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times :D
MJ & Rama should be full time midfielders from next season and take the pressure of JJ and Pev

deano! how could i forget! cant wait to have him back.

Yeah, Deano would be excellent in the back line again. He is an ace tackler and goes in at the ball hard, which is what we need.
which of lucas, bolton & jaccobs would be better suited up foward?
Definetly not Bolton. Bolton is suited for more of a HF position. Jacobs proved he can do some damage in the forward line after those 2 great goals against Collingwood. Then there is Scotty Lucas, who is used to this. But Scotty doesn't have the pace as the younger Jacobs, so I'd probably put Jacobs there.
should johnson be moved into the midfield?
Hmmmm, thats a hard one, but I'd say yes. With Deano coming back into our side in 2003, I think Johnson could make a move up to the mid field, yeah.
And lastly, is Adam McPhee being called a Guy McKenna clone good?

You've never heard of Guy McKenna? 267 games, dual best and fairest, 4 time All Australian. I'd take that.

Me too!
McKenna was a sensational player.
Just heard all the news...
Wally
Long
Hardwick
Barnes
Blumfield
Caracella
Heffernan
Anyone else?"
Pretty depressingly quick loss of quality - any yet we still have Cess and Slash on the list....
Heya Dutch. Hows things? Go Reds!
The thing is you have to trade quality to get something in return. I doubt we'd get much for Cess or Slash. Last year showed that.
Mind you we didn't get a whole lot for Heff either!
Time will tell.

This list looks good and should allow Mark Johnson to at least start playing in the midfield.
I just got a newsletter email thing from Bomberland, and they named their starting 18...funnily enough, Solomon & Mercuri both listed on the bench, whilst Welsh started on. I would have at least one of those, preferably Solomon, on.

Could this be the new Essendon line up for season 2003?
B:M.Johnson Fletcher Solomon
HB:Ramanauskas Bolton Rioli
C:Wellman Misiti McVeigh
HF:Cupido Jacobs Hird
F:Harvey Lloyd Lucas
R:Hille J.Johnson Peverill
I:Welsh Barnard McPhee Mercuri
E:C.Mcgrath Davies Reynolds.
just got lucas in the f.pocket and he can swap with Bolts.
only got the one ruckman cos i just wanted to see how good the team would be. If salmon or alessio play then probabaly fit one of the 2 in.

Harvey in the forward line..hmmmm...How about Moorcroft?
Lol, the little bloke could be a great addition to our forward line when He gets "in the excitement"

Yep good Dave - unemployed but changing a lot of nappies.
Liverpool - very, very, very lucky to be top at prez - could have lost loads of games - but we shall see - needless to say the Gunners have to get back on the winning list tonight against the Crouts....
Gutted about the trades but what are you going to do? I still haven't gotten over hardwick - let alone Wanga...
What the hell is the Ruck story?
Cheers
Dutchie
PS> On the upside, I got a ticket from an old client to go to see the Wallabie - POM RU match in November... cool heh?
Heh, know the feeling. Ruckman? What's a ruckman?

Yep - if you're 203 cms and can't stay on the list of a club with no established ruck option and be 31 and hence eligble for sal cap benefit - you're a dud
Poor ol Cess - nice guy though I'm told

B: M.Johnson Fletcher Solomon
HB: Wellman Jacobs Rioli
Thats what I think anyways!

I think next year will be quite exciting fitting some new players into the side. Hunt has been groomed in the VFl for a key defensive post eventually so I'd try to put him on the 2nd tall and Solomon on the third. In this scheme Welsh will get the small foward to release MJ. In my opinion our foward line was disfunctional last year so a bit of a shake up is called for
Welsh Fletcher Hunt
Solomon Wellman Bolton
Ram Misiti Rioli
Hird Lucas Cupido
Jacobs Lloyd MJ
Hille Pev JJ
Bench
Mercuri Barnard McPhee Extra Ruck whoever that may be.
It will be interesting times. With a fair run with injuries things could be very interesting next year. I'd like to see Henneman attempt to be a Charman by jumping really hard at the ball other player as reserve ruck.
emergencies:
there are alot of players I hope will improve and force their way into a spot McGrath, Bannister, Reynolds (my pick for the best of the yougnsters eventually), Bullen etc
Kane McGoodwin

Think you need MJ in the midfield to support JJ & Misiti with your trade losses. Also, Jacobs is probably better than Lucas @ CHF, but they are swappable on their day. So I would go for:
B: Welsh, Fletcher, Bolton
HB: Wellman, Lucus, Solomon
Kane McGoodwin

BTW, how would your backs match-up on a potential Crows forward line of:
HF: Welsh, Stevens, Bode
F: Burns, Carey, Burton
go team

i'll have a quick shot at it...
HF: Welsh/Wellman, Stevens/Bolton, Bode/Welsh
F: Burns/Johnson, Carey/Fletcher, Burton/Solomon
