How do you rate the club's trading in the recently completed trading period?
Pick # 10 to Hawthorn for Daniel Chick
Andrew Williams to Collingwood for Damien Adkins

I picked B, but prefer to quote B+
Chick is a bonus for us in a big way, but am a little uneasy about the Williams / Adkins trade.
I do not know about Adkins, but am worried about his injuries and how they will go. He is an unknown quantity to me.
As always I always hate to see a player leave and wish them well at their new clubs and just hope they lose form only when they play us instead of ripping us to bits. I hope Williams enjoys his time at the Colliwobbles.
Happy about Chick and would have preferred him rather than Headland. We need more goals and Chickie will give us that rather than Headland. B+

That's the problem with polls on these sites!!!!
I gave us a C. Really happy about aquiring Chick but really disappointed in seeing Williams go.
Could be upgraded to an A if Adkins turns out to be really good. I have my doubts though.

I'm not going to vote because I am not an Eagles supporter, but I would say B as well. Pretty decent trading.

So because we have traded an average player for an average player, you have down graded West Coast's efforts to get Chick home for Pick 10 only to a "C". Sounds pretty harsh.
BTW, you'll love Adkins when you see him play!! I have a couple of mates who are Collingwood fans who are very *****ty!!!!!

I hope they have the right eye for talent.....still feel uneasy about this....
I voted (A). Chick is a fantastic player, better than Hedland in my opinion and Adkins has the potential to become a star. Many Collingwood supporters rate him highly and are very surprised MM let him go ! I have just posted some comments on Adkins in the thread "trade joke".

I think a C is about right. We traded away a top 10 draft pick for a guy who may not become what he once was. Let's not just all assume that Chick will get back to his best. He may not get back there? And Adkins could anything. Right now it is a C. But as I said it could be upgraded to an A later.
It would be more sensible to have this thread redone half way next season. If Chick is back to his best and Adkins is actually good then an A. But if Chick cant find his best form and Adkins cant get a game then I think my C rating would stand.

the chick deal is fantastic and at worst i believe that we break even at the adkins trade even if he turns out to be a dud.
The key question is "did we improve our squad". The Williams trade is a gamble but the Chick trade is definateley positive.
We are also let with no delistings required ( I think) as Taylor and Merenda retired and Milli goes to the vets list.

Not too aggressive in trading, but minor changes to improve the list. I think Woosha wants to really stick with the core group he already has.

I remember at the end of 2001 they were saying that the Eagles Overrated their squad. Now that we have essentially stuck with the same group it will be interesting to see if Woosha can keep on developing them into a competitive Finals Outfit. I for one would not be surprised but it would shove it up a few Eagles Critics. eg Brad Hardie.

I didn't want too much and got more than i hoped for (only expected the chick trade)
I myself rate adkins highly and believe he will be much better for West Coast than Williams.
Could have said B but i trust WCE trade experts so went A:)

im a collingwood supporter... and my favs were tazza, adkins(chipper), and licca...... adkins was pretty much loved by all pies fans, he plays the style of game ppl come to watch... treat him well... he will be great for your team, more better than chick will be.... just watch and see.... williams is like a half forward... half back right? i gave you a c... chick i dont rate... and you took chipper:( ... you already have a good side... you just need some young backmen and forwards.

I think that we did well, in that the main thing was to not give up too much to get the most we could. Which we have done. I am most rapt that none of the rumours were based in fact, eg Wirrpunda to NM for draft pick 4, which we could have used to get Headland. Would have been great to get Headland, but at what cost?
We give up Williams who shows brief flashes of brilliance and then a two or three weeks of lacklustre performances. I like Williams, but he, as Embley, was inconsistent.
I gave us an A, mainly because the best 18 are all still ours.

Williams is an utility player and under Malthouse wasn't too bad. He also played some good games with us this year but MM will get the best of him. Now why did Micky let Adkins go ? I'm surprised! I thought that in time he would become one of your best players.

Chick was a really good pick up and one im happy with. Adkins im not sure about, have to reserve my judgement till i see him play.
Williams being sent away instead of Embley isnt the greatest decision IMO; always thought he needed to be put there and kept there, wouldnt be too surprised if he asked to leave

I voted B. If I'm correct, most of the fans say that they didn't want too much trading anyway so as to let the squad settle down into a 'mean machine'.

Looks like in general we are all pretty happy:)
Feels good, with the only sour grape being the unknown trade of williams for adkins. Only time will tell
