Should be in the Australian side IMO.

Excellent batsmen, been dominating the Shield for a while and can bowl better off-spin than both Krezja and Ritzy.

Should bat at number 5 with Clarke at 4 (should step up) and Huss opening with Katto.

Sorry to Haydos, think the career is over but has been brilliant.

1. Katich
2. M.Hussey
3. R.Ponting
4. M.Clarke
5. M.North
6. A.Symonds
7. Watson
8. Haddin
9. Johnson
10. Lee
11. Clark

Krezja in for Watson, I think we need him in the team and worthwhile persisting with, don't like Hussey opening either, maybe North to open?

I actually prefer Voges to North to be honest.

But lets face it. Both are from WA, and they would have to be like Hussey and dominate for another 10 years before they even get a look.

The force of Graham Mckenzie is strong with these two.

How about Shaun Marsh? He's closer to playing for Aus than voges or north

Probably.

But for mine he hasn't done anything in the longer form of the game.

lewigie

Agreed.

If they played him he'd probably make a 50 in an innings, shit all in the next innings, play a few more tests because of the 50, do shit all, get dropped and never have the chance again. Brad Hodge-esque

But Hodge is useless, and an incredibly selfish batsman that can't change the way he plays in different circumstances of a match.

I don't mean he bats or plays like Hodge, I just mean the way he'll be brought into the side, make one good score and then not make anymore under pressure and get driooed, is kinda like what happened to hodge.

North has the thing that none of our top 6 excluding Katich have atm, the ability to not get out to a silly shot. His spin bowling also looks handy.

I like ur idea of moving hussey to opening and consolidating our middle which has been average at best the last few tests.

IMO Voges, North, Marsh in that order for Aus contention, but based on this years performance none of them are threatening Aus selection.

Is this the eagle-docker peace convention?

Which room do the lectures start?

In terms of middle order, I'm gonna have to nominate the OTHER WA boy, ya know the one with a FC ave of 55 at SR of 70. That guy goes alright.

I'm not sure if hussey will want to open, seeing as he's now been playing in the middle order for a while, but i guess he did start his career opening, and would do a bloody good job at it.

He's not god lol, if we want him to open he should open.

As an opener his stats read 8 innings, 387 @ 55.29, HS of 137.

It's not a bad idea, but it requires thinking outside the box, something the selectors are rather partial to.

A selfish batsmen? he does change the ways he plays in an innings, depending on the situation. When it's him and Dussey, and Dussey is on song, he just gives him the strike. but If Dussey goes out, he attacks and attacks and attacks. he is the most adaptable player in Domestic Cricket, tool.

Are you a fool? Marsh is horribly out of form, only averages 34 in Shield Cricket, and im talking about the Test side here not ODI form so that statement is ridiculous.

North is a better batsmen and bowler than Voges and even bowls himself more than Voges.

Nope. That's why he got booted in the first place.

Now this may seem dumb but why not pick North as a spinning all rounder?? Hes a solid offie and hees keeping Heal out of their shield team because of his bowling. Not to mention he could easily hold down number 5 or 6 in most test sides. Averages 44.45 as a bowler in first class cricket, five runs less then both Krejza and Hauritz

Replacing a bowler? I'd rather not go down that road again after the White experiment. Has to be one of the top 6 he replaces if we are picking him.

Why do we even need a specialist off spinner if we have MC and Symonds in the team?

Rather play an extra seamer, and just use those two.

Clarke's back is probably screwed and can't bowl much and Symmo hardly bowled in Perth.

Which makes a mockery of why we picked Symonds in the first place...

Mandatory all rounder my arse.

You would select him primarily for his batting but to have his handy off spinners is more of an insurance for ponting and would fit in well at 6 for Australia.

If it was purely as a batsman, I wouldn't pick him.

His state form certainly didn't warrant it.

4th highest scorer in the shield comp.

with 2 of the 3 being openers and klinger batting at 3 for SA.

Sorry, I was referring to playing Symonds purely as a batsman.

And those stats prove my point. There are many players around that would be more acceptable as pure batsmen IMO.
