B: C. Johnson, M. Michael, C. Scott
HB: M. Pike, J. Leppitsch, M. Ashcroft
C: L. Power, J. Akermanis, N. Lappin
HF: B. Caracella, J. Brown, T. Notting
F: M. Voss, A. Lynch, D. Bradshaw
Foll: C. Keating, S. Black, B. Scott
I/C: J. Charman, A. Shattock, R. Copeland, C. McRae
This is especially stiff on a few blokes and the inclusion of Copeland over Whitey may not sit right with some.. I have him there (could be Morrison, could be McLaren, could be Hadley) to develop as the new link in our backline.
With Lynchy one season off calling it a wrap we have no real ready replacements for the forward line bar Leppa.
That said we need someone prepared to take up the CHB mantle should we find ourselves in need of his services in the forward line.
We need to be developing replacements for Hart, Ashcroft and Whitey.
I'd also be happy to leave Bradshaw out of the side if it meant developing a higher quality goal kicker.
I'd like to see Jason Gram get a bit of a crack in 2003 as well, after all, every team needs a gun kid tearing up through the ranks :)
I think it's still very early in the stage to make a considered prediction to our side, as we are still to go through the draft (we may pick up a player who could fit straight in, or regain one of the players we delisted), as well as the pre-season training and matches (in which early-season form will be apparent, and this will help to decide who plays seniors early on in the year).
Going on what we know now (ie: past form, with a guide on potential for the future), this would be the side that I would select:
B: C.Scott, M.Michael, M.Ashcroft
HB: C.Johnson, J.Leppitsch, M.Pike
C: N.Lappin, M.Voss, T.Notting
HF: B.Caracella, J.Brown, J.Akermanis
F: L.Power, A.Lynch, S.Hart
Foll: B.McDonald, B.Scott, S.Black
Inter: A.Shattock, J.Charman, D.White, C.McRae
Em: C.Keating, R.Hadley, A.McGrath
My preferred side:
B: C.Johnson, M.Michael, M.Ashcroft
HB: C.Scott, J.Leppitsch, M.Pike
C: N.Lappin, S.Black, J.Akermanis
HF: B.Caracella, J.Brown, T.Notting
F: M.Voss, A.Lynch, D.Bradshaw
Foll: B.McDonald, B.Scott, S.Hart
Inter: L.Power, J.Charman, D.White, C.McRae
Em: C.Keating, J.Gram, A.Shattock
I'd like to see Daniel Bradshaw re-establish himself in the senior side, while Jason Gram could be an up and comer this year
B: C. Johnson, M. Michael, C. Scott
HB: B. Scott, J. Leppitsch, M. Ashcroft
C: B. Caracella, N. Lappin, J. Akermanis
HF: M. Voss, J. Brown, T. Notting
F: J. Charman, A. Lynch, D. Bradshaw
Foll: C. Keating, S. Black, L. Power
I/C: B McDonald, D. White, S. Hart, M. Pike
1st-Emerg: A. Shattock
Considering that we are going for 3 in a row, I have picked a team which puts the thoroughbreds on the paddock. A 2-year old won't win the Melbourne Cup. If injuries and poor form does occur, and it inevitably will to some degree, then the junior members of our list will get their chance. The third tall is a bit iffy but I figure with most sides short on quality talls, and our teams ability to play the game on their terms quite often, makes it worth a try. A little bit like Richmond's set-up only more likely to play and be effective. Oops sorry bit nasty, but I can't believe Ottens impaled himself while gardening, and the day before pre-season was due to start. Prey we steer clear of what-ever ladder that club walked under.

HB:Ashcroft Leppitsch Pike
C:Lappin Voss B.Scott
HF:Notting Brown Caracella
F:Power Lynch Dan.Bradshaw
R:Keating Black Akermanis
I:White Hart McDonald A.Mcgrath

I think that Mcrae will struggle next season with the likes of Voss, Akermanis, Power, Caracella, Notting etc etc taking the majority of the goals, i think its time to give another player like ash mcgrath ago because he shows promise.... but then again he may prove me wrong.. i hope he does even though im a roos supporter. (Mccrae i mean)
Mcdonald has played in 2 premierships and some of u just give up on him for Charman, come off it Big Beau is a really good competitor and taps it to the brissy players 7 times out of 10...you cant just play him then get rid of him at a young age, and Keating proved how valuable he is to your set up after his supurb ruck work in the grand final... 39 hit outs wasnt it? must be some kind of ruckmen to have achieved that and i guarantee charman wouldnt have gotten that many hit outs had he been there and keating wasnt.
Shattock has got potential and would be next in line if McGrath or someone else was to be dropped!! same goes for the other 2 emergencies... Charman and McRae they would be the other 2 replacements for whoever got injured or failed to play up to standards.
But defintely that would be my squad of 25 that i would concentrate on trying to win another premiership because if you bring in too many youngsters then that means you have to drop some players... and i dont think that will be happening to any of the starting 18 anytime soon.
