Thought i'd already seen his worst ever football but the game against the Bulldogs proved me drastically incorrect. That guy is a clanger machine. What makes him think he can play a flair game (ie. attempting to goose step past his opponents) when he hasn't even come close to mastering the meat and potatoes stuff? We drafted this little d ickweed in 1996 and he is still on our senior playing list in 2002? It sends a shiver down my spine sometimes over how dumb our coaching staff can be.
Yes, but its not like he has been playing regular senior football. That would be a travesty! He has however taken up a spot on our list that could have been used to draft another youngster. Thats the crux of it IMO.
There is no doubt that Macca knows how to get the footy (he did collect quite a few possessions). Its just he doesn't know what to do when he gets the ball.
I've wanted the kid to do well ... i so have ... but the club has been fighting a lost cause with him.
Pre-season and VFL superstar he will remain.
Yeah, love the "goose step". Brought back memories of Calthorpe. I think he closes his eyes when he gets the ball and goes for a run.

you'll all be eatin your words by the end of the season - this is the year of the kid - dan the man, mcalister the great, the big macca - you better believe it kids, this season maccas back, and this time - it's personal.
Many of you will question K Sheedy's sanity when he selects D-Mac regurlarly to begin the season - "what a hack that guy is" you'll yell, "drop him, cut him off the list" you'll add with glee. By the end of the season you'll all be converted. Giant Macca posters will cover your walls. Not a day will go past without the image of Macca passing your mind. Friends will think you have a problem - every conversation you hold will some how revert back to daniel mcalister's stellar performance on the weekend....almost everyone will be affected, but this is australia so there's bound to be a case of the tall poppy syndrome going round. His critics will label him as simply an average player, many will argue he's not actually in the senior side, and the fact you think he is, is probably the result of a disturbing mental disorder. Yes, you do have a problem, but so does the other 15 AFL clubs. D-Mac's coming your way folks...and there aint nothin you can do to stop him.....muhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

I don't know if anyone else has seen it, but on Bomberblitz they've got a poll asking the question:
"Who is/was the biggest dud Essendon player of the past 10 years? "
The Choices: (results @ 1pm Wednesday)
Michael Symons - 3.1%
Judd Lalich - 6.3%
Ryan O'Connor - 7.8%
Peter Somerville - 12.5%
Ben Doolan - 15.6%
Daniel McAlister - 54.7%
Why doesn't Essendon take the hint?

How many people have been delisted twice in two years by the same club?
I knew it was f##ked straight when we picked him up in the draft. what about Judd Lalich, 3 goals in the wafl final.
And what about big ses. it's not like we're short on ruckmen or anything. Geeze we're f##ked.
