Would ANYONE over-12 years old vote otherwise?
voted test match too.
can't even compare the two really.
the amount of skill, concentration involved in tests is so much higher its not funny.
obvioubsly, the only reason one dayers are popular is because you can see batsmen score runs quicker and theres a result in a day. (please no one chip me for poitning out the bleeding obvious :p)

Test cricket for me too. One-dayers are cliched; Test matches have so many more dimensions and scope for change that one-dayers don't.

From an entertainment point of view definitely 1 dayers, but Test matches for tradition and also 5 days is always good for something to do when ur bored.

Personally I'd prefer Australia to lose every one dayer rather than lose 1 test match.

hear hear. far too many mickey mouse games for them to hold much meaning. for mine the world cup is the only place where these games hold any sort of significance, and where i care whether we win or not.
a test match lasts in the memory far longer than a one day match. i have no trouble recalling the sydney test match in 1998 where gough got a hatrick, or the hobart test in 1999 where we beat pakistan chasing 400+, or the 1999 3rd test in the carribean where brian lara won the game at the death... infact i can recall every test match since the tour of pakistan where tubby got his 334, and with a bit more effort, i can probably recall the results in the majority of tests before that (post 1992) (but the ones that werent televised are a bit harder to remember)

I'm still scarred from the MCG when Thommo and Border almost got there (and SCG against South Africa, and Adelaide against WI):(

I LOVE watching a One dayer with the high quick scoring etc, but a 5 day test match is more important to me. Both have positive and negative aspects, but overall tests are better.

It's funny - as a youngster I loved the one-day cricket, but these days I couldn't give a rats about it. Test cricket by a street.
Both; although being a purist - Test:confused:
One-day cricket is rubbish. Enough said.
As a spectator, close tests far exceed anything that one-dayers can produce, if the match is close.
Unfortunately the Ashes already looks like being a complete dud of a series.

Dean Jones said that he would trade in all his one-dayers that he played just to play one more Test.
And I prefer Test cricket over one-dayers. While most other sports are reliant on sudden thrills and constant excitemetn, there is nothing in modern sport to compare with the drama and tension that a great Test match can provide.
Perhaps the only comparison I could make would be the marathon, which I find engrossing in a similar way.

Just to let you know I voted for Tests and I'm a woman. There are women out there who SERIOUSLY love their cricket like I do!!
My husband came home today and was dismayed that there was cricket on...he didn't even know the test started today and we live in Brisbane!
Bad news is that it started here at 2.30pm, which was good because Matty and Punter had really got going by then, but I like seeing the first ball for the day!!
I thought it was fablous entertainment in a fun sort of way, but not very fabulous in terms of a contest. Surly the Poms aren't that bad...it could be a run feast for 5 tests if today was indicative of their true form.
Even my husband loved the missed catches highlights on the news!!!!
Hope Tugga makes a ton.....he's still THE man in my opinion!!!!
