particularly in the ING CUp with that batting line-up.

The bowling line-up isn't too bad, but its nothing to write home about.

After being a real force for a while they have more or less lost Gilchrist, Martyn and Katich, while Langer hasn't been able to do much in the past 3 seasons and they're batting really looks ordinary now to say the least.

Could be headed for a double wooden spoon IMO.

Them and South Australia redefinetaly the two weakest teams and at the moment SA are killing them in the one dayer.

Bugger me! I didn't even know this was on. These Perth day/nighters are so inconspicuous.

That batting line-up is definately a lot weaker without Katich. WA still have one established player in Hussey. It'd be good to see North have a big season, he may be a future Test prospect. Goodwin has been a massive underachiever since returning from Zimbabwe - but a guy who averages 40+ in Test cricket can't be a bad batsman. So the batting line up is still ok, no worse than SA's I wouldn't've thought. The bowling line up looks decent with four pace bowlers who've played for Australia, although I'd say Angel is largely past it. On paper I think that WA side is stronger than that SA side. In some ways they're just unlucky that the one SA batsman that can make a big score did so.

But carn you Redbacks!

Wilson performed well against his old side 8-3-16-0.

Harvey and Nicho are going great guns... I'm getting nervous.

Thankfully Harrity won't bowl another over (at least I assume thats who Johnson was filling in for).

Bloody hell,

1) How did we do so poorly in our bowling then with our batting. With Williams, Wilson and Nicholson who could possibly play in an Australia A team let Blewett and Fitzgerald get 111 on the board before the first wicket?

Then our batting was a disaster! Rogers doesn't cut the mustard at State level and Goodwin is the most overated player I've seen in years! Good to see the ever reliable Hogg and Harvey to make the scoreline look reasonable.

In fairness, this was our first One Dayer of the year, compared to South Australia already playing 2 games and being hungry for their first win

Nice debut by Geoff Marsh's son, Shaun.

Nicho is so erratic but when on target he is a great site to watch eg against England.

If only Goodwin and Rogers made some runs we would of had that one. You cant allow both openers to go for ducks in the first 2 overs but it was a good fight back and certainly stopped me from doing any study for english exam today :)

The WACA looks good on TV but those boundaries seem very small on TV but that means more 6's which means i have a better chance at catching a 6 and getting me hands on some of that ING cash :D

IMO Goodwin should be dumped.

Campbell and Hussey need to open.

Simple as that. North, Marsh, Harvey and Rogers will be OK. Just that we need a good start.

How we could possibly have let Katich go I dont know.

I think it was the case of "I'm leaving and theres nothing you can do to stop me." He was purely after getting recognition from the east coast and to boost his profile.
