“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Essendon Football Club for their support and in particular Kevin Sheedy and Peter Jackson,” Salmon said. “I would also like to thank my teammates – I had a fantastic time with them last season. I would also like to thank the supporters of the Essendon Football Club for the way they embraced me. My career has come full circle and I really feel comfortable with this decision - it is a nice way to finish."

so since he's retired again, does that mean we can put someone else on the vet's list or is it to late?

Damn, I'll have to change my sig.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Fish. I hate these "well done so-and-so!" posts, but the Fish deserves one for being one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet.
Oh yeah, there was his footy career too that wasn't too shabby.
Unlike a lot of Bomber supporters, I can proudly say that I never bagged the Fish (probably because I'd met him and liked him), but I will admit to getting frustrated with him in the ruck.
It was so great to see him silence the "he's not a ruckman" critics, including myself, when he went to Hawthorn and absolutely kicked fanny.
Well done Fish!

I can admit as well (and proudly) that I have never bagged the big man. I`ve given alessio, bolton, o`connor and trevor spencer some classical cannings over the years, but never Fish. He always, always turned it on when it mattered. I`ve met the man once and he was a perfect gentleman. I had more fights with Essendon supporters over him than any other player.
Champion.
Hopefully he hangs around the club. Always a good laugh, down to earth bloke. Pretty handy player as well. :)
