KP is set to become the highest paid cricketer in the world, no doubt increasing his already inflated ego. Apparently he has a reserve of 1.3 Million dollars which will almost certainly rise over the 1.5 millions dollars paid to Dhoni last year once bidding takes place for the signature of KP.

KP apparently held talks with various IPL franchises while in India with the English cricket team which leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth to be honest, sorting out business deals when your the captain of your country on a cricket tour.

I don't see what is wrong with talking to IPL teams, good on him.

Good for him. Gun players that deserves it.

He might be a wanker, but he will surely attract large crowds with his entertaining style of batting.

From the way you describe him LtD he sounds like Andrew Symonds except he can bat a bit.

Will definately get a few more people through the gate which is a good thing. Any chance he will end up at Warne's team?

I thought there was a rule that whatever the highest paid foreign player team got, that the Indian 'marquee' player on that team would get 10% more? Or did that only apply in the first year?

The player fees of any Icon players (at the date of publication of these rules, Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly, Yuvraj) – being 115% of the highest player fee in that Franchise's squad – will count towards the maximum purse of $5m.

So if Pieterson lobs at a team with an 'Icon' player, and Pieterson gets paid $1.5 Million, the Icon player will get paid 115% of $1.5 Million
