Just noticed this is airing on Nine tonight at 11.30. Anyone seen this one yet? Apparently much more bloodthirsty then the 1976 version.

watched half of it before falling asleep. was average at best. none of the murders were shown, so i didnt see anything near bloodthirsty. it was pretty boring, the only thing that kept me watchin it was that there was nothin else on.
The murders are eventually shown from what I read and they pretty graphic.
Apparently there is no Beatles music included in this version which is a little odd. In the 1976 version Helter Skelter is played during the murder scenes as are other "White Album" tracks like Piggies.

You don't see one stabbing or shooting? All you see is them in there and then it cuts away from it whilst they do the stabbings.
I'm not sure if I feel asleep but I was watching it and then all off a sudden some chinese movie came on and I was seriously WTF...
How did it end lads?

I forget how it ends and I only watched it last night. Absolute rubbish - poorly cast, poorly acted, poorly filmed, poorly directed. How Vincent Bugliosi came to produce this is a mystery.
Anyone interested in the case should read Bugliosi's book and google a DVDrip of the 184 min. telemovie from 1976, which is excellent.
And in the words of Kelly Bundy: "Turn on, tune in, kill whitey."

It ended just before Manson went on trial which i found annoying after they seemed to be setting up this whole battle between some lawyer and manson and just when you think it is about to get interesting it finished. Thought the cover of helter skelter that was played at the end was crap at least get the original if it is a major part of the story.

What he said.
Actually I picked up a doco on the Manson family a few years ago. The narrator sounds so freakin' creepy that I could feel my spine crawl. Watch it back to back with Sharon Tate's film "Fearless Vampire Killers", and it is some weird shit.

Yeah this was a bit of a snoozer but let's face it, there hasn't been a decent movie about one of those Yank serial killers since.......well never I guess.
Most of them are just straight to dvd releases and they suck. I'd like to see a big budget portrayal of one of these freaks but I don't think it would ever happen.
