Salopek & what other kid?
Yeah, which other kid. It looks like we'll get Salopek, but i'm not sure if there will be a quality youngster left at pick 24 according to the lack of depth. You never know, I suppose. It should be a very exciting year coming up. All Sainters should get their memberships, this is so important in the clubs survival.

Yes the Saints should be in for a good year next year all going well. If Carlton lose their draft picks (I think it's unlikely but possible) who will you go after then as number 1 pick? Wells,Goddard or stick with Salopak.I'm interested of course as North will then have number 2 in that scenario.

i'd take wells...
the kids 17, played in the WAFL seniors, missed a few games and ended up runner up in their b & f count.
i know salopek's a sainter, and that has to count so would be happy to pick him, but i would sincerely hope we go with the best, and i rate wells better than goddard too.

Runner up in the Sandover medal! Would take Wells ANY day of the week :)
I would still go for Salopek as he is a Saints supporter and he would really be committed to the club, which is what GT wants after the Spider debacle.

Quoting an unsubstantiated rumour I heard, is that Goddard looks a much better player than Judd. Did they both go to Caulfield Grammar as that is from where the rumour eminates.
I think it's pretty clear that whoever has the picks that it would be
1. Goddard
2. Wells
3. Salopek
All heresay though

it would be stupid not to choose salopek
u gotta have heart to play this game
look at the good players in our side, burke, harvey
they all played for the club and not for the money
we need more ppl like that
not some1 like everitt who just quit us
we must get slopek :)
also why get rid of crips? if ur gonna get rid of some1, get rid of Capuano, he does jack all..... oh well, my opinion

I must disagree here.
1) Why would it be stupid to not choose Salopek when you an take a better footballer above him?
2) Burke, Harvey weren't St.Kilda supporters, but now they are St.Kilda legends.
3) Cripps can't play in the ruck.

Geez, hard to go past Wells at #1. Second in the Sandover at 17.
Also, I wouldn't take much notice to that rumour!

the club is about passion to play and be a part of the club
not about how many finals we have won

The club will not survive unless success comes, ie winning finals.
The club's getting its priorities right, don't accept second best.

It seems JB may go from having an easy decision with the #3 pick to a very difficult but pleasant decision in having to decide between Wells and Goddard.
I haven't seen them play apart from a little bit of Goddard at the U/18 championships so I'm happy for the experts to make their decision.
Whether it's selection one or three in the national draft, I don't think we can go wrong.
Round 10 isn't too far away. It's a shame that's it an away game at the G but I'm sure there'll be a few saints fans at the ground to make our feelings known. :)

Wells..
The boy from WA! Can also use him to secure Chris Judd next year when he is out of contract, if he was to come home to Vic.
I'm more excited about the fact that Robert Harvey, Nathan Bourke, Fraser Gehrig, Luke Ball, Mathew Capuano, Kosie and Roo will be out there! And hopfully for at least 20 rounds!
Lenny Hayes/Robert Harvey will dominate in the middle, whilst Gehrig will cause head aches being moved into the forward line when appropiate while Penny care takes in the back line.
Roo and Kosie will impress us again, and Luke Ball will cook up a storm!
GO SAINTS!

From what I've heard, that'd be sucide trading Wells back for Judd..
