Well after watching the first two episodes on Seven on Wednesday yours truly quickly decided he wasn't going to be waiting around for them to air the other 22 at 10.30pm once a week and filled with ads :p So in the past couple of days I have downloaded up to date with the US yay me! :thumbsu:

I have enjoyed it so far :thumbsu: 24 is a bit of the same thing each season (although moving the setting to Washington is a great move) but it's still quite enjoyable stuff.

So is anyone else downloading it?

Well I've been watching and it has been good so far! Some of the fight/chase scenes are a bit silly at times but still fun.

I still think it's an awesome show, but it is one where i can't avoid spoilers for and as such i know a bit about what's coming up.

A lot of the spoiler info i have access to sometimes reveals a bit too much (eg: the same source revealed the last half of season 4 :thumbsd:) - but for the most part gives hints or just enough to let our imaginations run wild, until the episodes air.

Across season 6 & 7 it has been similar, however i knew the ending of season 6 (as well as the original "drafted" ending) way before it aired. With season 7, i've known several things before it aired (which couldn't be helped with the writers strike... a lot of info was bound to leak in the time it took for it to air).

But for the second half of the season, it's like trying to fit puzzle pieces together, i know of certain events that feature certain (and unknown) characters - but still don't have a complete picture.

Quite liked the latest (US) episode. Really covered a hell of a lot of story.

Hope they kill the president, that would add to the fun.

Keeping up to date with the U.S at the moment, same old formula, but gee this show is good. :thumbsu:

Episodes 12 and 13 were just plain awesome. Totally unrealistic but bloody freaking awesome. 24 at its best.

Almost forgot to mention that Cam Daddo was the VP - the VP with a terrible, terrible accent.

I thought the last episode was a dissapointment. Surely the president being taken hostage (even in the White House) should go on a bit longer than that. Just made General Juma seem like a bit of a soft **** as he only appeared in 3 episodes with the hostage situation lasting only about 40 minutes all up.

Still like it though.

I've mostly enjoyed this season but between the end of the White House hostage crisis and Moss' death I had the distinct feeling of "going through the motions".

Spoiler alert there mate? I wasn't aware that last post had aired in Aus yet, could be wrong though (getting names mixed up?).
The last few episodes on the US timeline have been great, less president more Jack. I hate her as a character about as much as I hated the grandma in Everybody Loves Raymond. Most indecisive boring scared president in 24 history.

From what i've read, this season could rival season 1, 5 and 2 as the best in 24's history. The next few episodes (US airdate) are awesome, and from all reports the finale will blow everyone away.

Potential spoilers
Personally i'm hoping the events that transpire, will see Jack finally go rogue, as unlikely as it is.

Okay I'm not sure whether this is the Oz or US spoiler thread so I'm going to enclose it in spoiler tags

Tony's whole character and motives in this season makes no sense. From bad to good to bad again, and it wouldn't surprise me if he turns out to be good at the end. The whole premise that he planned to work for Dubaku (indirectly)/Starkwood so that he could end up with the bio weapon for The Group is just plain BS. There are too many variables for the whole thing to work out. Well, I guess this is 24 after all.

Also, ROFL at Jack going off on Janice. Plain ****ing gold.

Okay I'm not sure whether this is the Oz or US spoiler thread.

This thread is to discuss the season at it airs in the US. Things that haven't aired in the US are spoilers and things that have aired in the US are not spoilers.

As for Tony I too have the feeling he's going to turn out to be a good guy (or at least 'mixed' guy). They'll explain away Larry's 'death' by saying Tony smothered him with some drug that makes the human body appear dead for X hours.

Anyone else seen the final two eps?

Another season without a super cliffhanger but still very well done, and a lot of things still wide open for next season. :thumbsu:

Yeah that was an anti-climax with basically the season ending in the first half of the last episode and the rest was just a setup for the next season. No real OMFG!!! moments which is quite uncharacteristic of 24.

I liked it. Tony turned out to not be good but had 'understandable' motives if you will. Thought it was good Olivia got caught  And Jack on his death bed but obviously he's going to survive. Maybe he'll be paralysed and stuck in a wheelchair? I could see him rolling around next season :p

I dunno, I thought Jack being on his death bed is the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers lol

We know Jack will survive in some fashion, but still, half the season for me has been watching Jack's illness progress over the last half of the day and wondering how they were going to work her back in to save him.

Be super interesting to see how he reacts to finding out he has a grandaughter (named Terri nonetheless)

Well it was pretty simple, once she was out of a danger, she made the decision herself which was always gonna happen. Considering there are series in the pipelines, and possible movie - it was always on the cards.

Nothing wrong with it but it was predictable that Kim was always going to come back.

Season 4 & 5 endings have been the best.

A very timid ending, but reports are saying that next season is 3-5 years down the track, not 6 weeks.

Which makes me wonder why it was a slow finale.

You'd have to think she'll be back, with the way they showed her turning toward the 'dark side' :p

It is unknown whether Carlos Bernard will return as Tony Almeida for season eight.

It's funny how they have no problem making China and Russia bad guys but when it's a Middle Eastern nation it's always a made up one :D

At the time of filming, season 8 was intended to follow season 7 either 24 hours - 2 weeks through to 8 weeks after season 7's events. Not sure why they've reverted to another multiple year period between seasons again.

Also from what i've read Kim won't be in the show the whole season, she'll only make a fleeting appearance, but like the above..... they've probably changed that and she'll be in all 24 episodes :p

What isn't clear is Tony, i for one would rather the character not return and remain in jail until such a time exists for a 24 movie. I wouldn't want to see a storyline where he gets out of jail (either by way of escape, or gets pardoned via an information exchange or something) - only for him to die within a few episodes.
