View Full Version : Why do Eastern states viewers miss out on last half hour of Adelaide Tests?

I see in the TV guide that when the 2nd Ashes Test starts in Adelaide next week, as South Australia is 30 mins behind Victoria, NSW and Tas, the Test will start at 11:30AM and finish at 6:30PM.

This means that once again that viewers like me will miss out on the final half hour of the Test on the Thursday and Friday.

Why is this? The Brisbane Test is moved back an hour so Eastern States viewers get to see the final hour of play, yet there has never been any effort made to move the starting time of the Adelaide Test a mere 30 mins, which as far as I know wouldn't disadvantage anybody.

Puzzling.

Even the eastern states tests go beyond 6pm because of slow over rates. And the Perth tests are even later than Adelaide. The ACB shouldn't have to cater for channel nine. Channel nine should cater for the ACB, and if they aren't committed let someone else do the cricket.

One of the advantages of living in SA is getting to see all of the tests, including the extra 1/2 hour due to slow over-rates. Ch9 if serious about cricket should be more flexible in their programming. I don't want it brought forward as for the weekdays, I'm planning to leave early from work for the lunch/tea sessions.

I thought the Brisbane times were an hour out, to reconcile the daylight saving hour lost/gained. The ABC commentators last week made constant reference to how quickly it got dark after play finished.
