I posted something like this at saintsational.com, but I feel I have to do it again. I don't know how the rest of you sainters feel, but I am becoming increasingly aggravated by d**kheads who continually put our club down because of a losing culture. They say that we will never achieve success, even with a budding young list. We have been the butt of a lot of jokes, but this is really starting to get on my nerves. Other supporters can be naive, but trust us, the Saints are on the rise. You may not believe that now, but just wait until next season. You will see what we are capable of. Grant Thomas and the current personnel at the club have begun to turn this club around. Suddenley it is becoming an exciting place to be, one full of anticipation and harmony. Also, our most negative influence, Peter Everitt, is gone. We now have quality people at our club, and they are the people that will develop us into a powerhouse side. Some people may write smartarse comments about this post, but this will only result in strengthening the resilience of my fellow St.Kilda supporters. The mighty sainters are marching. It starts now.

The only way we are going to quiet the knockers down, 'cause you'll never shut them up, is with success. I think we have a team quite capable of acheiving it.

We can decry the taunts of losing culture all we want, but it is too easy for opposition trolls to throw it at us, because we have repeatedly stuffed up over the years. How a side that boasted Lockett, Loewe, Winmar, Harvey, Burke, Frawley, Grant etc made only 2 finals series in 8 years is criminal, similarly the fall of grace since 97 has been spectacular. It is even said that we should have won far more than 1 flag in the 65-74 period.

However, what this year has taught us is that cultures can be changed. There are many people around who said Carlton would never win the spoon, their culture was too proud to allow it. Well ha ha ha. I believe we are on the right track, but as yet it has not been shown. We must start to win and win regularly. Honourable losses will not be acceptable any more.
