14nov02
SINGER-songwriter Jackson Browne and his band will tour Australia early next year, in his first visit for more than five years, promoter Frontier Touring said.
The tour will be a combination of theatre shows and performances under the A Day On The Green banner at some of the most picturesque wineries across Australia.
Browne will perform with his full band - Kevin McCormick (bass), Mark Goldenberg (lead guitars), Mauricio Lewak (drums), Jeff Young (keyboards and harmony vocals), Val McCallum (guitars) and Catherine Russell (harmony vocals) - and deliver songs from his acclaimed thirty-year career.
In addition to the classic rock tracks, Jackson will spotlight material from his latest album, The Naked Ride Home.
The album is Jackson's 13th career album and his first of new material since 1996's Looking East.
Over three decades, Browne has written and performed some of the most literate, moving songs in popular music, selling more than 15 million albums along the way.
February tour dates are:
Friday 14, Lyric Theatre, Brisbane; Tuesday 18, Sydney Opera House, Sydney; Friday 21, Palais Theatre, Melbourne.
Performances at A Day On The Green events also in February, 2003, will be on: Saturday 15, Bimbadgen Estate, Hunter Valley, NSW; Sunday 16, Madew Estate, Canberra, NSW; Saturday 22, Rochford's Eyton, Yarra Valley, VIC; Sunday 23, Kings Park, Perth.
