Who have been some the players to play for Fitzroy and North Melbourne. The one we all know is recent retirted John Blakey, and another play I know is McCarthany, I forget jis first name now. Can anybody help with other players???
Matthew Armstrong, Shane Clayton are two others that instantly come to mind. Also Martin Pike.
John Frazer, John Cassin, Grant Thomas, John Rantall.

did John Murphy go to South or North??
Adam McCarthy and Grant DeMamiel were traded to us from North in exchange for Matthew Armstrong.
A.McCarthy had a few good games in '95 (I always thought he should have got more of a run, especially in '96), however, G.DeMamiel never played a game for us, and was delisted after '95. I've heard one or two North supporters say that they rated DeMamiel as a chance at AFL level, however, from what I can tell, he never impressed too much even at reserves level with the Roys.
A.Mellington and B.Chandler also went on to play for North after 1996.
Chandler was unlucky, being dropped before the '98 GF, and then suffering two broken legs, after previously looking quite impressive as a small running player (I always thought he was very good for us, especially in '96).
I believe Chandler is now the captain of EFL powerhouse Vermont.
Interestingly enough, W.Schwass also came from Fitzroy's recruiting zone, and I believe trained with us on a few occasions before North eventually picked him up.
A bit of a miss on our part, that one.

Michael Reeves & Les Parish both came to Fitzroy from North, although Parish didn't play seniors for North.

There was also a bloke, called Frank Donnellan, who came to Fitzroy from North in the 1930's.

Correct. And will captain-coach Doncaster in Division 2 next year.
PS. Billy McCormack has relinquished the senior coaching job at Donvale to coach the Under 18's (what a shocking influence he will be). Donvale won just 2 games in Division 1 but avoided relegation.
There was also in the 1930s Charles Cameron (1948 coach of Fitzroy) and Jock Cordner (who became a top player at North).
