View Full Version : Ashes, anyone?
Is anyone else on this board attending the Ashes [in Adelaide]? I'm going, by myself, and I know it's a little short notice, but I was thinking maybe some of us could meet up. Any suggestions?
..this is my most pathetic excuse for "I dont wanna go by myself. WAAAAAAAAH!!"

Ah well, I guess I can just soak up this lovely Melbourne weather while I'm here
Damn. Guess I'm stuck with the Barmy Army until further notice. *Bangs head against desk.*

I'll be in town for the 1 dayer on the 19th Jan, but I expect I'll be so plastered I'll be an embarrasment.

and nothing less would be expected at the cricket............
it will be interesting to see what it's like next dry season when we've got a test match and ODI...........even though it will be against Bangladesh.........
Well, I'm not on this board but I will be at the Oval for the Ashes Test, and I think so will Kane Mc, also from the Crows board.....we were thinking of organising an SA Bigfooty meet at the cricket sometime this weekend, but haven't really got around to it.....and by the looks of things, we probably wouldn't have gotten a great turn out anyway.....and Badger, the Barmy Army will keep the day interesting at least.....I'll probably be on the Hill joining in the fun, drinking, doing the Mexican Wave and cheering the hot babes as they walk by :D
Unfortunately the cricket seems to bore me a little these days. I've got a members ticket but i think i have used it about 2-3 per year in the last 2-3 years, bloody expensive days at the cricket. I find it annoying to get there so early to get a decent seast in the members and really (it my sound snobby) don't enjoy the warm, mid-strength beer and the unfortableness (is that a word?) of the outer. Much prefer the footy!
I may drag my arse up there for a session or two here and there for the test match (more out of duty to use the ticket than anything) but can't be bothered with the full day or the whole 5 days (or 4 more likely!).

Well with a test match and a couple of one dayers that shouldn't be a problem............can't miss out on the jewies.........:D
We should take the banner we got made up for our supporters group earlier this year and place it over one of the the boundary fence ads..........
being the NT it would probably take a while before it was noticed and would be plenty of free publicity for our group..........:D

Yes Jabsy, still organizing the CUB tent, I'll be thinking of you when I am drinking free beer in the West End Marqee on Sunday, that is if the Poms last that long...
Thinking of that I think my soberness has more chance of lasting longer than the Poms.
