View Full Version : Will Torney get a game ?
I am interested to hear if the adelaide fans think Jason Torney can get a game with you.
Just a quick random poll thanks.
I hope so, otherwise we've effectively traded high draft picks AND Kane Johnson for Carey! When you say "a game" do you mean one game or are you asking if he'll be a regular in the side? I think he's maybe on the fringe but he should play a lot of games, barring injury he'll at least play a handful. I've said it on here before that I think he'll be competing with someone like Crowell (or another 2nd tier defender) for a spot in the backline.
An absolute certainty to bolster our defensive line!!!
Of course he will be playing regularly - only injury would curtail that!

He'll certainly get a game in defence if he reproduces this year's form. This releases Edwards to bolster the midfield and attack when required.
With Nigel Smart and Bickley both almost certain to retire at the end of this year, it will be important to develop a backline for the future - and Torney is part of it.
Easily.
On a flank or in a pocket. He'll replace Crowell.

hes a good defender why wouldnt he get a game
Didn't he come 7th or 9th in Richmond's B & F. I've watched a couple of Richmond games on the footy channel and taken a bit more interest in him. He has a good head for footy but takes a while to get the ball from hand to boot.
I'm not sure where he fits in. We've always got a lot of run from our back pockets and flankers and relied on FB and HB to bring ball to ground.
As a big fan of Edwards the back line, I can't see Torney getting a huge run. To me he doesn't fit our game plan. Maybe 2004 when Bickley and Smart probably won't be with us but next year he's not in our best 6 backline options.
