RADIO RATINGS

NOTE: Only one survey diary will be permitted to be filled out in any one household, in a move designed to promote even greater sampling accuracy. This survey was conducted in the period January 18-February 14. So some drops and rises will be more abnormal than in later ratings.

BRISBANE

BREAKFAST: Nova best FM, ABC best talk both with 13.7 share. 4BC down 3.8 (not a good start for Agr...I mean Jamie Dunn). MMM 2nd in FM, B105 3rd

MORNING: Nova leads but down 3.0, now 1.8 ahead of MMM. 4KQ big gainers Up 3.0. ABC gains on 4BC and now trail by 0.6.

AFTERNOON: Nova again leads despite 4.1 drop. ABC gain more than 4BC to edge ahead by 0.1. 97.3 still ahead of B105 despite 2.2 drop compared to 105's 1.4 loss.

DRIVE: B105 drop 5.2 and are now only 2.7 ahead of Nova who gained 0.4. 4BC now being outrated by JJJ!

EVENINGS: 4BC drop 4.7 and now trail ABC who gained 1.4 (up to 12.2, cricket factor?). B105 only other station above 10.

OVERNIGHTS: Nova, B105 and MMM in that order (B105 0.1 ahead of MMM).

WEEKENDS: B105 gain on Nova and now trail by just 0.5. ABC lead 4BC by 4.0

SYDNEY

BREAKFAST:[/B] Alan Jones (2GB) gains 1.5 (17.6) and comfortably leads ABC (Adam Spencer, gained 1.9 to get to 13.0) and 2UE in talk. ******** (Kyle) and the TV grim reaper (Jackie O) have a slight loss in listeners but win easilly for 2DAY in FM. Nova, Vega and WS all lose in excess of 1.5.

MORNING: 2GB (Hadley) only program over 10 (15.6, up 2.2). All major music stations down, with 2DAY now only 0.4 ahead of 2CH (who are they?).

AFTERNOON: Massive gain for ABC draws them to within 0.1 of 2GB, who themselves also gained listeners (3.8 up for ABC, 1.3 for GB). Again WS and vega with big drops.

DRIVE: Again ABC and GB gain listeners but ABC still has lead. 2Day leads music in double figures, Mix the big loser down 3.1 and almost with MMM who had little change despite Roy and HG's presence.

EVENINGS: 2GB drop 1.9 and now narrowly lead ABC who gained 1.1 (cricket factor?). Vega and MMM drop listeners as 2Day gains 3.0 to head music

OVERNIGHTS: ABC close gap, but GB leads comfortably, 2Day with 10.0 best music again

WEEKENDS: Cricket helps ABC to get within 1.0 of GB. WS drops 2.4 and hands win to 2day (up 1.6).

MELBOURNE

BREAKFAST: AW now up to 20.9, over 6 ahead of ABC. Gold and MMM gain 0.7 each as Fox (leading but down 3.4) and Nova (down 1.7) record drops. More people now listening to 3MP (3.0) than SEN (2.9)

MORNINGS: ABC gain 4.1 through bushfire coverage. Fox (down 4.0) and Nova again record drops. Magic outrating Mix!

AFTERNOON: 4.5 gain for ABC (12.7) give them the lead over AW (gained 0.4). Gold now 2nd in FM behind Fox (who lost 4.1) after Nova loses 1.7 and they gain 1.2.

DRIVE: Bushfires/Cricket help ABC to draw within 1.4 of AW. Fox down 4.4 but just about everyone else drops as well.

EVENINGS: Bushfires/Cricket give ABC a 6.0 gain and now lead AW. Music stations about all down again. Only less people listen to Vega than SEN.

OVERNIGHT: ABC within 1.7 of AW after 3.0 gain (bushfires). Only Gold gained in music stations but Fox still over 12.

WEEKENDS: ABC gain more than AW to lead. Nova only FM to gain and are now 1.7 behind Fox.

Adelaide and Perth to come.

On news.com.au, there is a story about shows that are in trouble already. Mentioned include How I met your mother, City Homicide (it has lost a lot of viewers since it moved to Sunday) and Bondi Vet. One suggestion is that they will move Scrubs to prime time (yeah right.........I will believe it when it happens)

Can't 10 bone that Guerilla Gardeners? Who watches that rubbish?
