View Full Version : How boring is cricket?
ATM it ranks up there with Lawn Bowls as Australia's most "exciting" and "unpredictable" sport....
Like any sport, it helps if it is a contest.
Absolutely no depth in World Cricket. I think I've been turned on more by watching Carlton winning a premiership...
I'd be happy if we played the South Africans every year. No one else is good enough.
The Pakistani's on their day are unbeatable I suppose, come to think of it. When they're at their best, no one can come close to them - including Australia. They are freaks, as their 180-run demolition of South Africa wo days ago proved. The problem is there is no in between. They are either terrible, or magnificent, and on the bouncy Australian pitches, they seem to be "terrible" more often than not.
Trouble with the Pakistani wundips is they prefer the bribe to the honour of playing for their country. IMO Cricket is given too much airplay in the media, it's no longer Australia's national sport.
Rohan... I agree with you. Cricket is as boring as my Grandmother's stories of knitting.

Pakistan won the blind Cricket world cup.
This is why cricket does not rank with the likes of Football and Soccer.
How boring is Rohan?
He's about as boring as a one eyed Collingwood supporter.
Oh hang on...

Cricket boring? Strooth, I can't believe I just heard that!
Cricket is a marvellous game to watch, especially the Australians who play exciting cricket, the likes of which you wont see anywhere else in the world at the moment.

Rohan you are an idiot. Cricket is as exciting as AFL you just need to know what you are looking at properly to understand it. Foreigners can't understand AFL the first time they watch it and think it is a crazy sport as well.
Now Lawn Bowls you are getting into trouble with. I play. You'd be amazed at how many younger women (and no I don't mean under 60 I mean under 30) are taking it up. Go to a club like Richmond Union or St. Kilda on a Sunday and you might be shocked.

Rightio, so it is more exciting if it is close...but Cricket is never boring!!
You need to sit back and enjoy the little things, the marvellous skills that continue to amaze and improve and learn to enjoy something that isn't "Americanised"...it's like the difference between Mc Donalds and a rost dinner...it's all in the timing!!

is it just coincidence that the two pushing this agenda are the very two bigfooty posters renowned for living at home, never having a girlfriend, and leeching off mummy and daddy??
*yawn* these types of arguments really sort out the sport lovers from the bandwagon theatregoers. im glad i dont have to mingle with too many of these types of inbreds.

Yeah, like they're there to watch the game. Half of you at any given time wouldn't be able to name who was bowling.
Nobody's forcing you to watch it.
Personally I find motorsport very dull, but it's more productive to change the channel than to complain about it.

I find one dayers very boring to watch recently but test cricket is never boring.I probably have more fun playing it than I do footy to tell you the truth mainly because you have more time to sit back and enjoy it for a moment (like footy better though).

This BS for a start, the SAs came over last year got walloped 3-0 when if they'd won the series they'd have been 'no1' in the world & then in the return in SA, Australia won the first 2 tests before losing the 3rd through complacency as much as anything.
Let's face it that would have been a whitewash had it been a 5 match series, much the same as England are staring at.

There is more excitement in a game of AFL than what you would get in a 5 day test match
Went to the boxing day test last year and counted on 1 hand the number of exciting things that happened as well as the fact that you couldnt see the ball

I went through a stage where i found cricket ....... test that is really boring, but the current OZ side gets the runs in quick time and plays aggressively and i can watch that, if i had to watch Geoff Boycott bat all day i would be out of my mind with boredom.
IMO test cricket ........ i will probably be howled down.........is heading for the crapper, even now the ACB probably makes more money out of the ODI than tests, although the crowds for the tests this year have been excellent i reckon its a bit of a one off.

Rohan,
If you think that Cricket is boring that's fine. Many cricket fans will disagree with you just like I do.
