View Full Version : National U19 Championships
Surely SA would have to take home the honours, in my unbiased opinion. This is the team, for the most part, that won the U17s two years ago. An all-star line-up, not a weak link in the team.
Mark Cosgrove, Callum Ferguson and Dan Cullen to put their names up for Australia U19 and national selection, in the coming years.
Mark Cosgrove was a part of the successful Australian side at the under-19 world cup last season. Callum Ferguson was also considered but missed out on selection for the final squad.
And I don't know if U17 success necessarily translates into U19 success two years later.

True, but the vast majority of the South Australian players have progressed to A Grade cricket since the Under 17s victory and developed their skills. They have certainly not stagnated.
Mark Cosgrave is a freak - absolutely tore NSW up.
aside from him, Ferguson and Cullen. Plant and Borgas would've had big expectations for this competition but have failed to produce.
SA are the team in this competition, but NSW can challenge them on their day.
Aaron Bird is the key for NSW and so far has gone for 72 from 12 overs bowled in the competition, which isn't helping their cause.
Cosgrove's aggression right now smacks of making a statement at not being part of the nucleus of the U19 Australian team. Well, that's how I'm reading it anyway.

Must agree on most of the statements here... I know ferguson is a gun because I saw him bat last year in the U17's final v NSW (Our game v ACT finished early so we popped along to the MCG to watch) and he only got 30-odd, but he did bat very well. He ended up with a record 580 runs for the tournament or sumthing, and got high score of 258*
I am calling my tassie mates every day to see how they are going, (I was gonna go over, but i broke my hand :( ) and they say SA are by far the strongest unit
