View Full Version : Wanted: Game preview and review poster
All teams this year will be having a poster that will be submitting a preview and review for each of their teams games on their own board and on a soon to be set up sub board of the Gameday board.
If you want to do this or want to nominate someone please do so in this thread.
A few things to consider.
You need to be able to do this for at least the 22 weeks of the season.
You will need a good football knowledge of not only your team but all the others as well.
You will need a good knowledge of modern football in general.
You will need reasonable grammar and general article construction skills.
You need to be able to put forward an unbiased assessment.
If there are enough with interest we may choose 2 or 3 posters to lessen the load.
The Essendon board Mods will be choosing the posters/posters.

I nominate GoDons...I loved his previews last year
Thanks Smythy.
I'm more than willing to help out again, but I don't think I'll be able to manage it for 22 weeks of the season.

That's ok.
If we have a few applicants then we should be able to spread the load, which will make it easier and provide varying views.

I could do it, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to do it for the full 22 weeks.
I do write articles on my blog (see sig. I should be starting Footy articles soon).
I'm actually thinking of doing a blast from the past article each week. With a review of an old classic game between the 2 teams.

I have been known to write entertaining articles about other interests like poker tournaments that I have attended, I love football and at this point in time 22 rounds seems like absolutely no problem. :) I guess it is up to you guys as to whether I know my stuff well enough or not though.

The lack of an apostrophe in "Mervs" suggests that you fail on the grammar point.:p

I'm happy to contribute if there's any room.
Couldn't respond earlier today as I've been absolutely flat out.
GD , BTG , GS ,fish and the bipolar would make a good crew.
I will not nominate for a couple of reasons , first and foremost is my grammer , speeling and article construction is well below the level needed.
Secondly with TAC Cup comitments i will not have enough time to do it justice.

I will nominate for a few games per year.
However I do vow not to over-rate anything and everything that a player who is younger than 21 years old does and to judge each player on his merits - even if he has been on a list for greater than 4 years. :D

Sounds like a good writing team.
Ok who is going to be first ?
Round 1 is this week so we really need to be looking at having a preview under way so it will be ready for posting later this week :)

Brilliant.
I've been sitting here for about an hour and a half thinking I should be working, then thinking, "meh, got another month".:D
I'll get started tonight, and try to finish it tonight.
Does anyone know of a football equivalent of this site (http://this11.com/teams/draw/875) (where you can create visual formations)?

Well to start with, a Man Utd example would be a lot better.

Just post it here Ben as the review board isn't set up yet.
