Great for the game of cricket, young Ronnie.

Can't play for sh*t, but great for the game anyway.

I saw his 80-something at the SCG against NSW. This guy can bat. Useful medium-pacer too.

Should be down the order rather than batting right up the top as number 3.

You know he's going bad when Harmison & Caddick have made more runs in the series than he has. ;)

His series average must be .333, that must be pretty hard to obtain.

It seems Irani has earnt the 'cult fielder' for the 2002/2003 series. I know Pat Symcox from South Africa had this title in his last series.

Not quite as Agarkar didn't get any runs in five innings.

Irani is more of the 'binary' type of player that Keith Arthurton was at the 1996 World Cup (scores along the lines of 0, 0, 1, 0, 0)

That award will look good next to the one Phil Tufnell won out here a few years ago as well. The MCC should stick them in with The Ashes in the trophy case. :p :D

What was it that Warwick Todd said about Ricky Ponting's 2001 test perfomance in India? Something along the lines of... "that's not a set of scores, thats an international dialing code."

I remember Qasim Omar from Pakistan during the 80s - that guy was a crack up when fielding on the fence.

His dive in attempting to cut off a four late in the Sri Lankan game the other evening was about as embarrassing as anything you'll see on a cricket field. Dived too early and had stopped skidding as the ball rolled past about a metre from his outstretched hands.

I agree with Dezzmo what dezzmo said about it looking like he's trying too hard. He seems to have reigned in his nutty behaviour since he has failed with the bat a few times. Maybe he should just let it all out and the runs will come.

He seems like such a likeable bloke - I hope he gets a score soon.

Ronnies on fire with the bat, i heard he got 4 tonight............ just working out his average...........0.8........ roughly 250% improvement on his previous average of 0.333.

What a gun, maybe Ronnie should drink his average before he bats...wouldnt hurt.

He's got 5 runs in 4 completed innings. Check your maths.

Well as Rocket Ronnie plays for my boys Essex here in England I suppose I should mount a defence of his ability, it's clear he should never have played Test cricekt , he got called back into the 1 day side last summer & did pretty well, his bowling was pretty hard to score off & he got Tendulkar a couple of times & he played some decent innings.

Whoever said that he's batting too high here got it spot on, he's not going to make many against good bowlers with a new ball whtehr it's a Test match or a1 dayer but bung him down at 6-8 & he'll do ok, as for his bowling I'm sure it will improve if he makes a few runs, he's definitely the sort of guy who gets on a roll & feeds off of any success that he has to keep doing better.

Agarkar was in 99/00. The 00/01 award should go to Mahendra Nagamootoo for signing my mate's formguide.

He nearly out embarrassed himself with his dropped catch last night.Luckily for him,the game was fairly well over.

I've got Ronnie in my one day fantasy cricket team. what a choice.

he hasn't taken a wicket yet either has he?

i don't think they award points based on fielding bloopers.

I fell in love with Nagas on that tour.

If anyone was at the G for a one-dayer, and heard a very extended blow of an air-horn when Nagas came into bat, that was me.
