I haven't seen a thread on this show and that surprises me. I have been watching it over the first season which finishes next week and loved most of the episodes, storylines and it is definitely unique.

Toni Collette does a brilliant job of playing an extremely complicated character (or characters if you include Tara's alters like T, Buck and Alice).

All the other characters in the family deal with the saga in different ways - Max the cowboy, Tara's sister trying to ignore it, etc.

Keir Gilchrist is star though! Playing Marshall, the gay 14yo somewhat geeky son, in a brilliant way that I could see his character becoming one of the most interesting - something unexpected in such an oddball show.

Check it out people!:thumbsu:

Seems ABC have picked up this series and it will debut next Wednesday (29/7) at 21:30.

This was a show I intended to acquire and watch but never got around to it.

I think Toni Collette has been nominated for an Emmy for her performance in this, so should be worth a gander at the first few episodes at least.

Really looking forward to this. Rapt that ABC have it are bound to schedule it with some consistency compared to what one of the networks may have done to it.

Really solid first episode, will definitely stick with this show.

Buck definitely favourite personality so far, but she's got two more that we haven't seen yet (four in total I think), so looking forward to "meeting" them next week.

Seriously though, how good an actress is Toni Collette?

I really enjoyed it. Quality writing and acting.

Toni Collette is brilliant.

The highlight for me last night was Marshall suddenly going the emo for punching Buck. Totally unexpected.

First episode looked pretty good. Collette is excelent, and all the other characters are cast well. Looking forward to seeing where they take it.

Having watched the whole first season, the first episode was probably the weakest IMO. Still good but it just gets better :thumbsu:

Nicole Kidman.

Spot on. She's so far ahead of Nicole Kidman it isn't funny!

I thought the concept (a woman with multiple personalities) would be a difficult one to pull off, but it was done brilliantly! Will definitely be tuning in next week.

Really enjoyed the first episode. Looks like it is going to be a pretty funny series. Buck was great. Been telling my friends to have a look at this show.

Toni Colette is such a good actor, each character she played was so believeable.

only watched the one episode last week.. holy cow! Classic written all over it if they don't go to far out with it.
Delving further into how the kids actually deal with it, especially the gay son who has to deal with Buck ("homo made" hahha).

You're flattering Nicole Kidman a bit there mate. Lol.

Sat down and watch the entire series over the weekend. Incredible stuff. Even John Corbet who I've hated in everything else I've seen him in was aces. Bummed I have to wait til next year for more. :(

Can anyone tell me wtf happened at the end of last night's show?

I was sort of half asleep and there was someone (assume Toni Collette) jumping up and down on the parents bed in a red cape? Was she pouring water on the bed pretending that the old man was wetting himself???

PMSL at Charmaine's botched boob job. Tori Spelling eat your heart out. Very much a mallrats moment!

i think one of the alters were pissing the bed

kate gets involved with the boss

max makes sure to humiliate the parents by letting them know the dad wets the bed as they are about to drive off

charmiane also rocks up to the little guys apartment for well you can fill in the blanks

that's about it

the botched boob job part, was a little much for me

one of her altars

sorry, if my post made it sound it like it was actually tara

but i reckon it's a completely different alter.... they all have their particular dress.... and this one was completely different.... plus the personality is a complete different level of feral

I think it was another alter. I remember hearing on the show or reading it in a review of the show that there were 4 different alter's. We had only met 3 in T, Buck and Alice. The 1 we met last night seems like the one with the most trouble. The show is evolving, in a good way. It feels like it as been going for a while, owever we have only seen 5 or 6 episodes.

Surely Toni Collette must be a monty for an Emmy, each alter is so distinct and yet she transfers between them with such consistency. Remarkable acting.

Collette is just amazing and the young guy that plays Marshall is a young actor to watch out for. Brilliant series.

Anyone watched season 2 yet?

Not quite as good as first season but still a great show... not enough alter action for me this season, but Toni Collette was brilliant again.

Buck eating pussy was very funny.

dropped off halfway through season 2

found it really boring

the son, the daughter and the sister just didn't grab me, found their storylines a bit bland

not enough alts

in saying that, the scene in the basement where tara became all the alts was one of the best scenes ive ever watched

toni collette is such a gun

Enjoying its return on the ABC so far.

Ep 2 cracked me up.

Then again, every ep with Buck cracks me up.

But Jarrett, Kate's co-worker at the debt collection agency, stole the show.

The episode was weird but good at the same time. Also did anyone else think it was a bit shorter than usual? Maybe it was just because I haven't watched it since before they 'rested' it for the election.

I don't think its as good but not because its boring but because it went too weird. Its like they realised there was nowhere to go with the characters after S1 so they regressed them all.
