I went to the Music & Book sale that occurs every so often at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre yesterday (opposite Crown Casino), and for the first time there were a couple of cricket videos on sale at low prices. Here are a listing of the ones I saw:

Merv: The Merv Hughes Story I haven't seen this video but presumably a biography of Merv's colourful cricket career, made a few years ago. There were about 50 copies available selling for only $5, which is especially cheap considering that Australian Cricket Video are advertising it as costing $20 on their web site.

One Day wonders Vol: 2 - featuring Aus v Sri Lanka 1985 and Aust v India at World Cup 1992 There were around 20 copies of this video left when I bought one yesterday, costing just $6.

I always thought this series of videos were rather low in substance to warrant buying the full price for it, as they don't run for particulary long (barely over an hour). I think they could've chosen a better match then Aust v Sri lanka 1985 in Adelaide. The Border/Jones record partnership is a memorable one with many outstanding shots being played, but the rest is forgettable, especially Kepler Wessels bowling and getting wickets at the end with his slow bowling.

Highlights of the 1998/99 Ashes series Were only about 10 to 15 copies available as of yesterday, selling for only $7. I suspect that it had been selling quite well. A fairly substantial overview of the 1998/99 Ashes series, running at around 2 hours, with the English team looking like world-beaters compared to the current touring group.

This sale is open daily from 10:00am to Midnight, including XMas Eve (10am-6pm), Xmas day (from 1:00pm), Boxing Day, New Year's Eve (10am-6pm) and New Years day.
