2002: After a season devloping in the SANFL in 2001, Dom broke into the Power lineup to play 6 games in 2002. With the absence of Fabian Francis on one of the wings, the oppurtunity was open to a few Power players to step forward and present themselves in the pre season, in the hope of securing the wing spot. Dom was one of them. He had a fairly good pre season, with strong games against Fremantle (14 possesions) and the Bulldogs (9 possesions). He played in the Wizard Cup Grand Final, playing the majority of the match on the bench and picking up just the 1 possesion. He missed out on the wing spot to Michael Stevens. Dom was however an emergency in the first round.
With strong SANFL form in teh first half of the season, Dom would be an emergency 4 times before getting his debut game of AFL football against Fremantle in WA. His debut was an impressive one, showing no fear in going in and getting the ball himself while picking up 9 possesions. He set up a few good plays that night, and he showed he certainly has a future at the Power. His next 4 games were spent mainly sitting on the bench, coming on for around about 7-8 minutes at the end of each half. However in his last game for the year, against West Coast, he got given more gametime and again showed that he has the ability to become a regular member of the first 18 in the future.
Doms SANFL form was impressive, regularly picking up 20+ possesions and he was named in Wests best players 9 times in his 14 games.
2003: 2003 should be the year in which Dom Cassisi shines thru and plays regular AFL football. He has the class, the skill and the maturity to become a regular next season. Personally i can see him playing over a dozen games, mainly off the bench, but getting more and more gametime as the season wears on. I am also predicting a Rising Star nomination for the Dom.

Another great summary Macca as usual............
Dom is certainly one of the players expected to step up in 2003 and should get plenty of opportunity in the pre season to secure a spot in the regular team.
Dom's motto for 2003: Time to step up.

Dom is the player that I believe will make the biggest step up this year.
Kane Cornes will keep improving, but Cassisi will shine and pick up a Rising Star nomination at least, and most improved player at the end of the year.
How is that for sticking my neck out.
Dom certainly looks like he has the skills to become an established AFL footballer by seasons end. Hopefully he gets his chance early in the year and is given some time to prove himself. I think he'll make it in AFL ranks.

Definately the main contender for a spot on the wing. He has shown enormous improvement and confidance and worthy of a spot.
Top stuff macca!!!

Just thought of something. What is his kicking for goal like?
I seriously have no idea.

His kicking seems to be around AFL standard.

His SANFL stats from West Adelaide show he could do with a little improvement - 32 games for a return of 23.27............
2002
Games 14
Goals 10
Points 11
2001
Games 18
Goals 13
Points 16
Not a great return in the SANFL, but if his goal kicking (& general kicking) at training is anything to go by his accuracy & length of kicking are right up there with our best.
Hey Macca, how come its taking so long to go through the list?

I make bouquets of Flowers basically. The Woolworths range 'Clover Hill', thats what i make. So next time you see the Clover Hill range at Woolworths in Darwin or Adelaide, then its a very good chance that i made some of the bouquets.

Sounds a bit poofy but its bloody hard work. In past Christmas's weve worked 14 hour days for two weeks....mind you this is standing on your feet all day as well. Your hands get full on butchered up, your skin peels off your fingers from all the water. Crows supporters wouldnt be able to handle it :p

Sounds like at least one Power supporter i know pretty well wouldn't be able to handle it either :p .
Certainly sounds tough, i know a girl who used to be a florist and her hands were always cut up to buggery! Atleast the pay check will come in handy when the Xmas bills come in:)
