My 2003 membership arrived today:D :D :D
A few months earlier than normal...and I've only paid off $48 of it:)

Just paid mine a couple of days ago, picked up a few more items, bang 6 hundj later......All bought through The Club shop, all money staying with Essendon, none of this carving up 15 other ways

Membership money doesn't get divided between the 16 clubs does it? It's only merchandise isn't it?

Merchandising seems to have heaps of different rules. But, in a nutshell, if bought at the club the money stays there otherwise it goes to the AFL who splits it between the club. That's what I think Windyhill was referring to - he bought it at the club to keep all the money at Essendon rather than into the AFL's equalisation fund.

Yes, I was referring to the merchandise. On the membership front, what about A.F.L memberships ? You point out your club etc etc, how much does that particular club get ?

Got my membership 2 weeks after renewing which was a change from usually receiving it 2 weeks before the first Pre season cup game.

I got mine around the same time. Once again, the design of the card is simple, and looks crap. Come on, a fricking bit of red and the logo? What about something interesting? And no more wallets! GRRRRRRRRR

Why did they change the wallet to that thick paper booklet? Alright it has a map of the ground but its too thick once the membership is in their and eventuallly it will get wripped because its paper.

Haven't even started paying mine off yet. :( Can't afford it! I'll probably leave it til late, and pay it when I go down to the family day, like last year.

Card looks ok, simple, but ok. My stick pin broke when i took it out of the wrapping. Whose the dill that decided the wallet had to go? I still have my '02 wallet and will use that instead of the 'convenient new members document', which is too big and awkward for my liking.
I am looking forward to the new season though.

Got mine in the mail just before i left. I've only paid my 10%, will pay the remainer next month. But i agree, it was a nice xmas present ... but it did come out of my own money. Anyways, not like i'm complaining. Our club gives us great value!!
what does the medallion do? does it get you a seat in the social club stand at windy hill when the bombers play there?

With AFL embership, if you take a Club Support Package, $120.00 (or whatever the basic membership of your club costs) goes to your nominated club. The rest goes to the AFL, of course.
However, you can take out what's called "Competition Package" of which 100% goes to the AFL. In this membership you don't nominate a club to receive any money. This membership would also restrict your chances of going to the GF, especially with a reduced capacity for the next few years and if some of the more supported clubs make it i.e. Essendon v Collingwood.

I am a bit peeved as i just renewed my membership and found out that they gave away my reserved seats to someone else. You'd think as a silver member i'd at least get a freakin' courtesy call telling me to renew ASAP or else i'd lose them.
Pornstar, I can see why you're pretty peeved off at that. The renewal form that was sent out didn't really clearly state the cut off date that clearly, I almost missed it.
Although a couple of days before the cut off date I received a letter stating what date it was as a reminder, which was pretty lucky.

Hey do you guys get your memberships boefre you have paid them off.I was just wondering because we have to pay the whole amount beofre they send us our tickets along with our membership packs.
