1:45 AM on Boxing Day. Due to a combination of late nights and alcohol consumption - but strangely, no chocky coffee beans - I cannot sleep. Perhaps, if this all-important question can be answered, I might achieve rest:

Which of Doctor Who's companions would you most like to boff?

WHERES PERI!?!

Failing that, Zoe (proviso she is wearing THAT bodysuit)!! ;)

First Romana on a cold night, 2nd Romana on a warm night (think about it).

Sarah-Jane to marry and settle down with. Jo for a bit on the side.

Teagan for Aussie company only (hope she followed AFL)! :D

Sorry Grendel - only room for 10 options, so I picked the 10 I fancied most (well - 9 + Adric). While Peri was well-proportioned, her faux-American accent grated on me... perhaps if she could be kept quiet, I might have featured her on my list ;)

For reasons of vocal pitch, volume and frequency - not to mention being plug-ugly - Mel was also not in contention. Hell, I'd voluntarily walk into the shower block with the Brigadier rather than be subjected to Mel screeching in the throes of passion.

I've gone for Ace, myself. Very hard decision; fairly good field of fillies to back there, but the image of the chesty rebel Ace getting primal on a Dalek with a baseball bat does it for me :D
She can call me professor any time!

Not a chance, she was from Brisbane. Bit of a bogan but I would've done her if she promises not to talk about the Broncos. ;)

Nyssa was a bit of alright.

Ditto for Ace.. mmmm Ace.

First Romana wasn't bad at all.

My cousin from McLaren Vale had better call me soon. I brought her Dr Who and The Seeds of Doom on video (there is hardly any Tom Baker stuff available - its all William Hartnell!). If I don't hear from her soon, I might have to kep it for myself!

Right, this thread goes back to the top.

Come on people, there must be more than FOUR of you out there who have watched Doctor Who at least once in their lifetime - and harboured heavy fantasies about his companions.

I ask again: which of his companions would you most like to boff?

Too many kiddies who wouldn't know about it and if they did, there wouldn't be enough special effects in it for them.

You had better shut up before you say more than you wish you knew..

I'd be pleased if you proved me wrong.

But I've people say it's crap cos of the (lack of) effects.

With the return of the good Doctor to our screens, I thought I'd resurrect this poll.

Would one of the moderators be so good as to move this to the media & entertainment board? Muchas gracias.

Done.

Can't remember the characters very well, but I think it was Jo for me.

I remember at the time I was a huge fan of Nyssa!! I also think Romana 2 (Lalla Ward) was pretty fine (she's married to evolutionary biologist, Richard Dawkins, by the way). I watched some of the later shows as I thought Peri was alright, but the show wasn't as good then, so it was only the occasional glimpse.

Didn't Tom Baker get married to one of the Romana's at one point??

Duh, he must have done, even the poll says so...
Shame nobody mentioned Susan or Barbara. Nothing like a bit of 60's tottie.

Yep - Tom Baker and Lalla Ward were married for about a year or so in 1980.

I voted for Jo Grant, I also thought Peri was a bit of alright.

Is also the sister in law of Bryan Brown!

Hehehe, thats pretty much how Tom Baker described it in his auto-biography too! :D

Tough choice. I like Grendel's approach - different companions for different circumstances

Jo Grant - a bit on the side
Leela - when I want to be dominated
Romana 2 - take her home to meet mum. An allround spunk. Loved her in Paris ("City of Death").
Romana 1 - the sophisticated seductress (liked Mary Tamm in the Odessa File)
Nyssa - there was a certain sexyness about the girl from Traken.
Sarah - sorry, the voice would kill me.......then again
Peri....mmmmm!
Ace.....very nice
Zoe.....same again please

No-one interested in Dr. Liz Shaw?

While not a companion, a standout for me was the Queen of Peladon (from The Monster of Peladon). A very nice piece of work. Couldn't act to save herself, but that hardly matters.

Ahh... Dr. Liz Shaw - she'd be a dominatrix, wouldn't she. You can just see her with a riding crop, dressed in a lab coat with her hair in a severe bun, and garters...

Or maybe that's just me.

I also agree that there's different companions for different times -but I'd always go for Ace. She'd be a filthy bugger in the bedroom.

... better yet, oh to be the meat in an Ace / Peri sandwich...

Leela

I was about 16 when she first appeared.......... :)

I voted for Zoe Herriot. She had nice cute buns.

Great to see another Who fan on the site.

What about Polly ? She was a hot sexy blond from the swinging 60's plus she was ready to put the kettle on for the boys (one episode of the Moonbase the Doctor actually asks her to make everyone coffee)
