LIONS then DAYLIGHT
30 Mar 2009, 01:36
The 2nd and final match in the T20 series, and the last hitout before the T20 World Cup.
No need to bore you all with an essay length intro or fancy graphics that serve little purpose, except to say that Australia will be looking for a better performance with bat and ball and finding a way to blast Albie Morkel out when he bats.
Here is the important info.
FORECAST: Sunny
TEAMS: not yet announced.

I already got an esky full with ice and 12 stubbies to last the night, was thinking of doing a "dirty thirty" but thought i might wait till to the first ODI to open a carton of XXXX Special Brew (talking about it on here a few nights ago made me go out and buy it to give it another try). Im going to wait for a special occasion to open it and also the ODI will give me a better chance of hitting the prestigous "dirty thirty" mark.

3 runs off the first over by Bracken.
As a side note, how many tosses has Ricky Ponting won in these two summers in all formats of the game? from count, its 13/15, now thats fairly impressive.

If we can't get the job done today, we shouldn't bother turning up to the T20 WC.

Without question, his stats simply back it up. No other bowler is as consistent and as miserly as he has been over the past couple of years.
If only he got rid of that girly bloody haircut

Is anyone else getting pissed off with the sideways camera angles as the ball is being bowled? Makes it hard to focus and looks unprofessional

The boundary on one side of the oval is a disgrace.
That SA batsmen was shanking the ball and it was going for 6.

156-5
We should be able to make this...need Warner to really fire :)
triplejdude
30 Mar 2009, 03:26
Australia should be able to chase this total with ease, given the strength of their batting lineup
Hawks1523
30 Mar 2009, 03:29
Has there been a flukier innings then that of van der Merwe? Bloke wasn't even looking at the ball half the time. Shit, if all you have to do it be able to swing hard and fluke 6's then I could play for SA in T20.
LIONS then DAYLIGHT
30 Mar 2009, 03:42
Got to admit, when he was struggling he seemed to just say, to hell with it, and just started swinging wildly. Really says something about the quality of blade he was using and the size of the ground when he is shanking 6's.
Hawks1523
30 Mar 2009, 03:49
Funniest was then he went to slog over mid wicket and ended up over point. He was facing the complete wrong way to where it ended up.
Also, he has the most awkward swing I've ever seen, when he hit straight sixes I had no idea where it was about to go.

I can't understand why Clarke is opening?
His not an opening batsmen in any form of cricket, especially 20/20.
He stuffs around, getting singles, gets a score, and then throws his wicket away.
He faced 17 dot balls. He just seems like a selfish cricketer, he won't risk his wicket until he has a "score" and in this form of the game that isn't good enough.
LIONS then DAYLIGHT
30 Mar 2009, 04:33
The camera work is disgraceful in that coverage, im not sure what the director is doing or whether he/she is trying these different angles in 20/20 cricket but they are shit.
Clarke's innings tonight really frustated me, he changed his bat 3 times, 3 times. I mean, FFS. Faced more balls then runs and put us behind the 8 ball when as the set batsmen, he should be the one clearing the boundary instead his facing out dot balls and then calling for a new bat.

This series is going like the home summer here in AUstralia.
SA win first 2 test matchs, then we win the last, and then the 2 T20's.
Aus win first 2 test matchs, then SA win the last and the 2 T20's.
Maybe we will win the ODI series 4-1?

 I leave for work at 36/0 and we lose?! :(
Pleased to see South Africa take it out, hopefully they can build on this and compete well enough in the ODI series.
Looks like 4 wins to one coming our way in the ODIs. That van der Merwe bloke is a consistent big scorer off not many balls in their domestic comp so he must have this mad swinging business down to a fine art. Punter and Clarke have been poor in the shorter form recently.
And btw there were lots of hot women in the huge crowd.
