View Full Version : TV Sit Down, Shut Up
Later this month, Fox’s new animated series Sit Down, Shut Up is set to premiere. Fans of Arrested Development will be pleased to know that some of the brilliant-but-cancelled series’ cast will be reuniting to lend their voices to this new cartoon-comedy.

With all those minds at work, looks to be very good.

Isn't this series supposed to be like the Australian version with steven curry that was on year ago.
Sit Down, Shut Up is an upcoming American animated series created by Mitch Hurwitz based on the short-lived Australian sitcom of the same name.
Yes.
It debuts April 19.

It is based off of that, yes, but I'm not sure how similar it will be. Hopefully extremely different because even as a year 8/9 student I could see how terrible the Australian show was :thumbsd::p (although in fairness to Steve Curry I imagine that was because Ten meddled and dumbed it down for the bogans as they ALWAYS do).
First episode aired today, reviews of the show have been panning it pretty hard though.
Yeah haven't heard anything good about it. Will watch the episode soon.
Just watched it then, it was pretty disapointing. Hopefully it improves quickly.
Was going to have a squizz, but after all the shitty reviews I think I'll pass.
It was decent. A few laugh out loud bits. Some characters are better than others, basically the well known voices. Hopefully now it can come into its own after all the introductions in episode 1.

Just finished watching it and yeah I pretty much agree with the last poster. Few laughs but overall fairly disappointing. Hopefully they can progress from the pilot into a more solid format. The crazy Librarian is probably the most interesting of the characters.
I thought it was solid enough for a pilot. Better than a number of recent Family Guy episodes anyway.

I was going to mention this in my post but then forgot.
I didn't really like Family Guy the first episode I watched when it aired in Australia. Maybe this show will grow on me like FG did.
complete crap. I turned it off halfway through as I couldn't take it anymore. Rubbish show.

It wasn't exactly slap-your-thighs-red stuff, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I'd expected from all the negative reviews flying around. I found quite a few parts funny.

Definately some quality and promise in this show. Can't believe how merciless the critics have been.
Will Forte's character is gold. Only things that really gets me is the lameness so far of The grounds keeper, miracle grohe (Larry Littlejunk's acting around her particularly infuriated me) and baby merch (How cliche is the cartoon baby becoming?) the lame names that arent worth the one potential laugh they could rouse (Apart from Deutchbog).
Couple of lines had me in stitches.
"I always blow it like the stupid P.E teacher I am." "...I could never get my P.E. teacher to do that."
and "Oh yeah? Well I've had more female pinky in my man hole than you've....wait...who's what now?"
A tonne of potential in it.

I think it's definitely improved in recent weeks :thumbsu:

I enjoy it, but I don't expect it to last long. Just not the kind of humour, now it is starting to get funny, that appeals to the majority of audiences.
Yeah, it will struggle to get a second season. Which is alright with me, as Hurwitz can do much better.

All but cancelled; Fox has replaced the last episode with a King of the Hill repeat.
