View Full Version : Jetta Trade Bait?
Leroy is in his 3rd season for the club and isn't in your best 22 it seems, i would assume this is a little concerning for you guys considering his reputation pre-draft and the pick you guys used on him.
At this moment would he be a likely bait come trade time at the end of the season?
Obviously many thing can change between now and then and he could establish himself, but how do you guys see his value to your side.

Considering all our injuries, he's not in our best 32 - not 22....

So i assume your saying he is trade bait if things gone change?

He should have played this week, but there's a reason he's at Bendigo and I don't have a problem with them making him earn his spot.
They want him to work harder, find more footy and play more in the midfield (among other things) and he's done that really well in the last two Bendigo games.
Another game like that and he'll be in next week.
Its Round 2 mate, seriously you cant be serious about the best 22 comments and possible trade bait scenarios this early in the season?
The kid will be back into the side in little time, as Longy said probably next week.

Jetta needs to be in our side, when he is on the ground, we seem so much more dangerous up forward like anything could happen, probably even more so than Davey. If he can get his disposals up too 17-18 possessions a game he will be one of the deadliest small forwards in the game. If we trade Jetta, I will be absolutely gutted. Love the kid. Thats it I'm getting number 7 on my jumper.

I realise that, i'm just checking to see where he sits in the scheme of things down at Windy Hill.
With all of your injuries you have to be slightly concerned he isn't playing in the seniors at the moment surely...............

Barely any injuries to our HF/FP though probably Reimers, Monfries, Davey and Skipworth all in front of him in the pecking order but have a feeling Monfries might be sent to Bendigo sometime soon for a game or two.

As you said, it's his third year. Give him a bit of time to develop, ffs.

Unless it was a player for player swap I doubt we will see any trades for draft picks this year in what is the last uncompromised draft.

You better show me where i said anything even close to saying this..........................................
The fact that i'm interested and the fact he is a Freo boy kinda shows that i rate him and would like him to be traded back home. Hence i rate him a fair bit.

No need to get knarky, it was a simple question.
But seeing you want to carry on like a dipshit then we can continue this. He is 4th-5th in the pecking order for a small forward role at Essendon which isnt a good sign.
Look at the other small forwards in the AFL, they make an impact from the get go generally and Jetta hasn't dont squat yet.
He doesnt have the tangibles that the Daveys etc have, his speed isnt there or at least he doesnt show that speed with hard work when the opposition have the footy.
Possibly a little on the lazy side.

I may be wrong but i'm pretty sure this is a compromised draft this season.

Only as far as the 17yo's are concerned.

Probably not, but he certainly isnt entrenched in your side at the moment.
If he isn't playing consistent AFL footy it will certainly have a factor on whether he does leave or not.

I haven't looked at the draft much, so basically what your saying is that this seasons draft will be the same as every other season?
And the Gold Coast will take a group of kids that aren't eligible for this draft anyway?

If he is so bad why are even questioning about his trade value?

Never said he is crap, just doesnt seem to be overly committed and doesnt work hard in games i have seen of him.
I rate him and think he could be a very good player, hence the interest.

We could do with pick 2.
TBH, Jetta was picked up as a midfielder any ways, he just never had any size about him, so that is why he has played forward, he is creative, something that our midfield has lacked a little bit.
We could do with pick 2.
So you would have pick 1 and 2.....................

The only possible way Jetta - or any other Essendon player for that matter - is getting to Fremantle, is if we realise they are no good and delist them.
And for the record, Jetta will not be in that category.

Are you as thick as a brick ?

Have you ever taken any of your players / club to task on their achievements ?
If so put the threads in here and make sure the date is on them etc .
Go back to your own club .

The Wizard is looking for something that will try and fire up the Dockers on Sunday .He will email it to them .
Jetta is going nowhere.
He has some work still to do but he'll develop into a very handy forward/midfielder. He's a tough little shit too, doesnt mind putting his body on the line.

Jetta is my favourite player on our list, I have the number 7 on our shirt, I would be exceptionally pissed, he reminds me of Andrew McLeod, everything he does with the ball is brilliant, needs more of the ball though.
I stress that if JETTA continues in his current VEIN of form - That EFC will receive no better than a third round draft pick if TRADED.

I'm certain the CLUB will take your views ON board. Since THIS is a thread on a football website started by an opposition supporter, and it is already round 2, IT appears certain his fate has been decided and we await ONLY the result :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

The way draft picks are prized these days, we would not get anything for him. Better to hold onto him and hope that he can maxmise his potential.
So long is Davey is playing, we do not need Jetta in the team, so no biggy.

The more time he spends at the top level the better. It will improve his skills. He needs people giving him praise to develop self-belief. He'll be a dangerman in the future. Keep Jetta.
I suspect that Jetta may need to reinvent himself ie; get fitter and spend more time in the midfield to be a valuable player.

knights doesnt seem to be the sort of coach that would readily trade skillful young midfielder, i would think that jetta will get his chances this year and cement his spot..... and as far as freo goes, i cant see us ever trading away a draft pick again after what occured with the connolly/schwab reign of terror.... thank christ
Jetta will get a spot in the season soon, obviously they're keeping him in the VFL to develop his skills. Hopefully his time there would give him more hunger for the game, it could help him continue to get more touches like he's currently doing in the VFL. In my opinion, it's a bit early to be calling Jetta trade bait, it's only like Round 2? :o Support the team! :thumbsu:
