Friday 3 April 11:30pm AEDT
As with the last time these teams played, top spot on the ODI rankings is up for grabs. Win the Series and Australia go back to the top, lose and its status quo. Graeme Smith gets to don the pyjamas for the first time this summer after missing all the 20/20 games and ODI's in Australia and then again the 20/20 in South Africa with Mitchell Johnson related injuries, but Jacques Kallis is out with a groin injury.
For the Aussies, a few players will likely be given opportunities to press claims for future ICC tournaments, with the uncapped pair Ben Laughlin and recent test debutant but also an ODI virgin Marcus North in the squad. The South Africans have already named their XI whilst for Australia its a match day decision seemingly, with 1 batsmen and a couple of bowlers/allrounders to drop out of the squad. The Aussies will also have to make do with a makeshift opening combination of Clarke/Haddin/Hopes or whoever they decide.

Sids and Hilfy rested I assume?
I'd probably go:
Haddin
Clarke
Ponting
Hussey
Hussey
North
Hopes
Johnson
Geeves
Bracken
Hauritz
Haddin
Clarke
Ponting
Ferguson
North
D Hussey
White
Hopes
Johnson
Geeves
Bracken
That would be my team, Michael Hussey has been in shocking form and it's time to let him know that he isn't guaranteed a game anymore.
With North, D Hussey and White all in the team, I don't see the need to play Hauritz.

Punter has been batting beautifully this tour, and then finds a way to get himself out.
I don't think Punter's tour overall has been that great except for a few important innings. And if muppet could catch his best dig in Joburg would have been nullified.
Punter seems to go out to a Morkel sibling quite a lot.

I never said statistically that it has been a "great" tour.
I just said that he had been batting beautifully, in the first test match he was outstanding despite holing out in the 2nd innings looking for quick runs.
In the 2nd test match he threw his wicket away in the first innings but played amazingly well in the 2nd.
He should have had 2 hundreds in the first 2 matchs.
In the last test he got a couple of good balls.
But today he was on fire, and then holed out again :(

looked at dictioary.com - there is no euphamism but there is a euphemism...
1. the substitution of a mild, indirect, or vague expression for one thought to be offensive, harsh, or blunt.(can be the other way round)
for example “To pass away” is a euphemism for “to die.”
Back on Topic - quiet start for Ferg

They are assigning these super mods to different groups. It's basically a step down from admin/global mod.
I think they are still looking for a mod for the general bullcrap boards, you spend a lot of time on there LtD, how about you?

Somehow i don't think im what they are looking for, i mainly hang around on the cricket board, sometimes i might put the wind up them on the general board, every now and then ill pop in to the Lions board, but i find that place is like opening a bag of monkeys.

Most importantly it means if a poster really annoys me I can permanently ban them from BF myself... ;)
It is actually global mod too. So I can hunt you lot down on other boards as well.
I know you’re all thinking ‘it just gets better and better’ :D

Yeah from the live stream I just saw it then. Didnt look like it hit the bat at all..
Really? From the stream I was watching it certainly looked worth appealing for.
We are probably watching the same stream haha :P IMHO, it didnt look like it hit the bat....but without another angle, hotspot or snickometer, it was very hard for ME to tell if it had hit the bat or not.
Live i called it out. Funny.
Just like that LBW appeal, blood hell that was taking middle leg. Cricinfo guy saying "down leg".
