Hate em, worse on the radio.
Try to be funny but are actually repulsive.
the alpaca one is so bad that I find it absolutely hilarious each time.
Its the way he say "alpaca breeder" that always gets me.
has anyone seen that Bankwest add where the woman is asking a ?turnip or something what makes them happy...I love that, "From the root to the fruit" line.

I can't believe there are people who think this crap is funny? How?
When i see this type of ad i honestly think there can't be people who sit there and laugh!

Reminds me of the 'Wraps of the world' ads (you'll be wrapped in the taste!) only less funny if thats possible.

They're awful ads, but people are talking about them, which is what every agency is looking for.
In that regard, they're successful.
I seriously don't mind them because they are so shit they make me chuckle. Bill's ad is the best, but that ****ing Bulgarian fetta line is constantly stuck in my head on loop.

my wife reckons these are hilarious especially Bill, i cant stand the stupid ads.

He played Charlie, a farmer who they used to inject a bit of humour into the show.

The alpaca one I can handle, that is the only one I've seen on tv. The personal trainer and the truckie ones on the radio are dire.
I don't see how any publicity is good publicity. These ads subconsciously assign a NEGATIVE feeling towards CGU.
I recognised him from the early days of Blue Heelers.

Yeah I remember him in BH.He's one of those actors who pops up in everything.His real name is Don Bridges.

You're reading a thread about them, posting in a thread about them and talking about them.
That translates into name recognition which inevitably leads to more sales.
Agencies (and the companies they represent) don't care if you like their ads, they just want name recognition and word of mouth, both of which they're getting in spades from these ads.
