Note: Pakistan haven't actually taken the field yet. They have just set up a bowling machine and put card board cut out fieldsman to replace them while they soak up the sun on the beach.

They've soaked up a lot of sun judging by the tans they have. ;)

Probably the only players with hearts smaller than Andy Caddicks

If they dont get a wicket first ball, then they just give up

Gibbs dropped on 99....unfortunately he played a pull shot and it just cannoned into the cardboard cut out fielder knocking it to the ground....

Two balls later....bowling machine hits Gibbs plum in front but Bucknor was too busy reading the local paper to make a decision.

Next ball hits a 4 to post his ton.

Gibbs 103* Smith 77*

Sth Africa 0/186 after 40 overs

What is wrong with this umpiring, numerous times Gibbs and Smith have been out but the umps have turned a blind eye. Bit of sledging happening on the pitch but Sth Africa have the runs on the board, 0/241 off 50 overs, Gibbs 130 (158) and Smith 100 (152).
The Pakis look ****ed!

0/347 off 66 overs
Smith 144 off 201 balls
Gibbs 189 off 208 balls
The records are tumbling and Saqlain losing his temper, anyway time for bed be interesting to see how long they end up lasting, it's incredible cricket.

26 fours and 5 sixes,
201* off 211 balls for Gibbs double century, will he beat Lara's 375?

Now 0/360 after 67 overs. South Africa's biggest ever partnership. Around about the 19th highest partnership overall and the third highest opening partnership. Yep the pakis are rooted, although they could still draw.

WTF is happening? If anyone has live TV coverage, could you fill in the rest of us.... are the South Africans that good? Are the Pakistanis that bad? Is the pitch like a freeway? Are there ropes 50m from all fences?

They scoreboard suggests they'll get close to 500 in a day if 90 overs are bowled... surely a record!

3/445 at stumps - and that was after bad light saw play stop 1 over short of time. Play will start 5 minutes early tonight to make that up.

not sure what u r implying - there is no doubt in anyone's mind who the premier test nation is.

pakistan managed to bowl only 89 overs and went 70 minutes past the scheduled close of play. pakistan are a disgrace, even with their best team in. justifiably the 8th best (or 3rd worst) test nation going around.

Saqlain Mushtaq has now conceded more than 200 runs in the innings. Only the 18th time that has happened. Could he be the first to concede 300 in an innings?

All 4 main bowlers conceded over 100 runs. The 5th bowler only bowled 4 overs, yet still conceded 24 runs.
