The most freaky cover would have to go to the American Rap group Coup, who released their new album in the leadup to the september 11 attacks.

Needless to say the album cover was pulled off the shelves pretty quickly.

Devastatin' Dave, the Turntable Slave, would be my personal fave so far....
Zip Zap Rap.
Man.
I mean, dude.
Actually, he was probably pre-dude.
Has anybody ever actually heard of Devastatin' Dave?
There are some absolute beauties here :

I've got the Mr Mean Soundtrack-The Ohio Players were an awesome group.
A mate of mine bought me an LP by an 80s Russian band called Vitamin Group. Although the front cover isn't that funny check out this extract from the liner notes:
Opening an encyclopedia at the word "vitamin" (in Estonian "vitamiin") we can read that "vitamin is an organic substance necessary for the maintenance of normal physiological functions". Many admirers of "Vitamin" Group are of the same opinion, they cannot imagine modern pop-music without the ensemble because "Vitamin" means youth, smile and good mood!
The record itself is bizarre vacillating between traditional Slavic folk tunes and a sub Kraftwerk drone.
