If trends are your thing, then you can put all of Kevin Rudd’s bonus on an Australian victory here with the results for the home side across all forms of cricket so far being:
In Australia: .... LLWWWLWLLL
In South Africa:.LLWWWLW???
South Africa rebounded from an ugly game 1, with a comprehensive thrashing of their own in game 2, with the new ball duo of Steyn and Parnell tearing through the top order, with the game effectively over inside the first 10 overs.
Australia has batting problems, with an unsettled top order and out of form players.
Michael Clarke: Averaging 26 in his last 33 games.
Ricky Ponting: Averaging 24 in his last 24 games.
David Hussey: Averaging 27 for his career.
A much improved batting display will be required if the Australians are to take a 2-1 lead and they won't want to remember the last time they appeared at the ground for a one dayer as they were bowled out for just 93 here in 2006.

Hard to pick a team that will win this...Ever so subtle hint.

I'll be up again tonight, have to finish of an assignment discussing the effect of salinity on aquatic biodiversity tonight so i'll be here to provide "Lets go to work" calls. Hopefully the punter can get a good hundred and the aussies can get the win.
Be a great double, Roy being selected for the pakistan series, and the Aussies getting win.
Impossible to predict, obviously i would like to see South Africa win - but the Australia - South Africa rivalry has had many twists and turns throughout the past few months. I don't expect this match to be any different.
I hope we win coz there is nothing much else on tomorrow and I would like to stay up and watch it and sleep half the day tomorrow.
Cant do that if we get bundled out for 131 again.
GO AUSSIES!!

Come down to Central Queensland and do my assignment then if you have nothing to do tomorrow.
I have slept 3 hours in the last 24, and i probably wont go to bed until lunch tomorrow.
A Punter ton would be a nice tonic.

Just a suggestion for future match threads for ODI's at least, and maybe test matchs is too post a recent history of the scores at the ground the game is being played at. Obviously, we dont need the scores of every game from 1980, but in ODI's it is always interesting to see what scores have been produced in the recent past.
To find out just go to the cricinfo page, click on the "Aus V SA series" link and then click on "grounds"
Cape Town really is a wicket or ground where you want to win the toss.
Since 2000, 21 matches have been played and the team winning the toss has won 16 of those games.
Here are the recent scores at the ground

And no offence, but i don't really think we need recent history of games played from series in 2001/02 and what not.

Nearly as annoying as posters who constantly mention the state a player comes from (when it is the posters own state).
Especially when they have been warned several times about it.
Will be mod action if that happens too much more.

This wicket is looking a bit slow, not much grass on it, groundsman appears to have cut it clean to try and negate the fact that bowling 2nd can get more movement through the air and off the pitch.
