What do you want from this forum?

For anyone who reads the General Talk board, you know what is going on. For anyone who doesn't, let's just say there is a very large revolt going on between posters and moderators over there, resulting in many to question the rules and regulations put in place and a serious lack of trust in BigFooty's moderators and administrators.

I absolutely do not want to be perceived as being above everyone here, just because I have the "mod" tag, so I want to ask you what you want out of this forum.

This site ultimately is still run by Bluey, so we have to keep it consistent with those terms and conditions, but I have some freedom to bend and shape the rules as I see fit. What suggestions do you have for making it better? How should it be run?

I agree with Dave. There aren't any hassles on this board. Come to think of it, I don't really think there is enough action here for us to have troubles ;) Or Essendon fans are just decent people ;)

But I think for any board, people need to keep in mind, it just needs to be civil discussion.

But Stealth Bomber,a question to u as a Moderator,Why are a surnames like Cckatoo-Collins censored?.After all it's not their fault that that's their Surname.And it's certainly not meant to be either Rude or crude,it's just a name.
Another case would be Willie Dck or,for us 'Don People,Justin Laycck.

I don't think the swear filter is smart enough to differentiate proper names from censored words. If there was a way I'm sure it would have been set up that way.

If it were up to me, I wouldn't have any filters, because people always evade them anyway, and I'm really not all that bothered by the language. If something really bad and abusive is said, it would most likely get edited or deleted anyway.

I suppose those that run the whole site are concerned about sponsors and things, and they might feel like they have to keep it family-oriented for that reason.

Thank god i came around at the right time, us essendon fans cant start going around getting a reputation of being nice decent blokes. :)

Just thought i'd jump in and say "there goes our reputation" and "Hi im new here, and i give it 3 days before everyone wants me booted :)"
